Why am I always disappointed after I first see a lady like this, talented, beautifull, intelligent and sophisticated, when I discover she's, as always with these women, married to some rich or royal guy that's way older.
I dont know,...I just can't stand it.
What's it gotta take for me to meet a 'Uomo universale' like this lady?

Okay here is the lay down she is an Aussie born girl of Dutch/ Sri Lankan descent and was raised in California. She basically just another American girl! She isn't impressive I mean they are trying to sell her like Anna Netrebko but the different thing is Anna can sing! And is a better actress.
Great looks, can dance, act and has a wonderful instrument. Is she good? Yes, of course. even very good, but not great.
What happens next? Well, marriage to Christie, hopefully a family to carry on Glyndebourne, and then? Work on the technique, stop writhing about and develop the coloratura. Consult Sutherland if she'll see her, become great because she could, conceivably do so.
Otherwise, a shorter career as the Glyndebourne darling. I like her, but I really want to love her. Not yet.........
Call Madonna, as someone stole her fake British accent. Please put this horrible soprano out of her misery. I hear the PussyCatDolls are hiring. Horrendous.
I admit that I was initially overwhelmed by Denise's physical attributes when I posted my comments four months ago and so I did engage in a little hyperbole. BUT, I still think with some vocal refinement she is destined for greatness.
Well, maybe it's great that she is the new face of opera. Opera is a dying art. Last time I went to the MET, I was one of the youngest people there (I'm 20). I think she's fantastic, an inspiration to young singers, and a real asset to the opera world.
Last time I went to the Met, (Im 23) I was Not one of the youngest people there. And I dont think there is anything great about watered down opera. I fell in love with this art for the amazing performances, not the mediocre ones. I'm just being honest about my opinion. Its ok that you like her (as Im sure you know) but I think she's very underwhelming.
How many amazing performances have you seen? If I waited around to see only guaranteed great performances, I wouldn't get to experience as much music as I would like to. De Niese is a terrific entertainer in my book - lots of fun. I doubt even she would be foolish enough to hope to be the next Sutherland, or Sills. Singers don't have to be the greatest of their century to be enjoyed.
for me, young soprano, she can be an inspiration because of her love to music, her determination and anderstanding of music. but I think that she was absolutely fantastic in the aria 'l'ho perduta, me meschina' from Mozart's Weeding of Figaro. she was 18 then and she was singing better than how she does it now... =/
She isn't anything for opera for us young artists our teachers including the singer, Renee Fleming in her lastest master class, not bashing the singer but that her technique needed a lot of work if she didn't want to damage it so soon. She would be a terrible influence on young singers like me of 16 and poor in wealth. I am not a big fan myself her voice and timber isn't enjoyable to listen to it is aching to my ear. I enjoy the vocal styling of full lyric sopranos of course and true mezzos! :)
I will marry this woman...seriously, you'll see, somewhere, somehow, I will meet her in the next couple of years and she will marry me...and I don't mean it in a stalkish way...we are destined to be together...again, not in a creepy way.
gooneraly... whew! Thanks for passing my shouts on down the line. I guess Grim couldn't hear me from my front position. In fact, I barely heard you. When I turned around to look I had to squint. LOL! I thought you were an ant.
Wow! The line for Danielle is longer than I thought... sound travels at aproximately 1235 km/h (767 mph) and it's been 3 weeks since I shouted down the line. That means it took 1.5 weeks for you to get my shout and then another 1.5 for me to get your "hey!!!". Let's see... 1.5 weeks = 7 + 3.5 days * 24 hrs/day = 2412 total hours * 1235 km/h = 2,978,820 km (1,850,004 mi) Yikes! A line that long would fit every adult male on the planet! I'd say things are looking a might grim for Grim.
I love (and am almost in love)with Ms De Niese. I own a DVD recording of her Cleopatra in Handel's Julius Caesar. She sort of reminds me of a young Kathleen Battle because of her articulation and pretiness of voice. Danielle is also asuperb actress. To top every thing off, she has the looks to rival some of the big pop icons (Byonce, Alicia Keys, Britany Spears, Alia etc. I hope she continues to grow into an opera icon.
I don;t know a thing about opera music but the one pice that sticks in my mind is Danielle singing Vide Cor Meum in the Opera scene in the film Hannibal. She is a great singer and absolutely stunning, there's super models that aren't as pretty as her.

Good looks, dances, acts and has a great instrument but not yet the truly great baroque artist she could become.
Best of wishes for a happy marriage with Christie and hopes of a new dynasty to keep Glyndebourne going.
I wonder if Sutherland could proffer advice. Is te Kanawa the right mentor??
A good singer, no doubt, but has she the will and patience to achieve true greatness? I really truly hope so.

I think she has a very lovely voice. And certainly great discernment as to greatness among opera singers, since she gave kudos to Dame Kiri.

If you hate her so much then stop watching her fucking posts! I'm so annoyed with mediocre opera singers who bash others who are successful.
If you want her success work for it!
