The specific hormones are only released in the birth canal and is a distinct phase of a Vaginal birth. The genetalia of both the female and male child is extremely swollen at birth. The visual comparison of vaginal birth to a Caessarian birthed child it blatantly obvious. A Phase 1 study is where a drug is given to healthy volunteers...a pharmcodynamic study. You can't judge efficacy in Phase 1 studies, because the people who take it don't have the disease in question.

Phase 2 is where the drug is piloted in people who have the disease. If it DOESN'T WORK, then it doesn't move beyond.
