thank you so much. i've been trying to figure out that stupid program for months because i want to start getting into computer drawing and i like to free hand it and scan it in. I was cursed with a laptop that had this sucktastic program and have been scouring the internet for tutorials that could help (still no results and i doubt any will appear). thanks for adding that download link for the old version.

I do have that version of paint and it does get pretty annoying but alot of the time I just use the pencil tool. I'm glad you made this video it shows people that windows paint isn't so amazing. Myself and a friend got windows 7 and were very disappointed with the results of windows paint.

I use windows vista paint and it's much better. I know they say PS is better, BUT it's harder. Paint let's you drawing 2D pictures, like I myself, design characters and I've been using paint since 2002. It's not easy to change the program u were using b4.

it's the same as the old paint, just with a few more tools. Many of the points are invalid because you barely gave the program a chance, first pick the pencil tool and it won't soften. Also YES you can get a transparent background, I've done it. That same way, it may just be possible that the picture you choose didn't work.

i can't even customise colours, they don't have textures. for example if i try to make a reflection, so i make some text copy paste flip vertical it flips both and if i were able to do that there is no option to fade the bottom part of the reflection and also there is no way to get a an image into the text, so you could put a red tiger picture in the text to make it have red tiger camouflage.

With the continuous line just delete the joined up bit and don't adjust the shape. as for the freeform drawing, use the pencil tool... and for the background disappearing thing it needs to be the EXACT same shade of white as the background selected, on the old paint I assume that it chose very similar colours as well, simple solution to that go to iaza.com, and go to the change colour option, choose for it to choose colours slightly similar to it, and change it all to pure white.

Hey Dooombox, there is another showstopper problem with Win 7 Paint. When you zoom in and try to edit individual pixels, it acts on the pixel to the bottom right of the one you are trying to edit, not the one the tool is directly on, even if you are zoomed in super close, which makes editing sprites incredibly annoying. Also, when trying to move the handles for the selection box, the click zone is freaking HUGE! What, were they making the program for people with Alzheimers? They must have!

i think i know how to get windows vista paint on 7! if you tried the flash drive thing, don't bother to read. you insert a flash drive into your vista usb port and drag paint to the flash drive file. then right click the flash drive file and click eject. take out the flash drive and insert it to the windows 7 usb port. open up the flash drive file and drag vista paint to the desktop!

LOL, I pity the fool who uses Paint for drawing! When everything else fails, you can have a go with Paint, but not before trying out real graphics programs ...

For PixelArt you should use GraphicsGale, it's just perfect for making pixel perfect drawings, animations, decomposing gifs, making icons .....

It seems what you like to do is vector drawings, well, use a vector drawing program like Xara. Xara is the best in these kinds of drawings and very easy in use.

Hey, you can remove the smoothing in Windows 7 version of Paint!

Just press the icon for the pencil and then you use the tool to draw straight lines. Since you can choose what size the pencil will draw with in W7, its almost better. Soo hope you can use this and keep making Mr.Happy Face :D

Doombox, a program wich u will like is Edius 5, it is a program to make movies. DreamWorks and BlueOcean Entertainment use it. (They use the 1000$ version) there is a version of Edius 4 which is totaly free.

I use it to do machinima and alot more. It is the highest rated program to do movies in the world, try it it has a "paint" program in it.
