sometimes I wonder if this anime woulda been better off without the Megadeuces cuz when I first watched this series I kinda liked the nuances of Roger and Dorothy but the Megadeuce thing seemed a bit incongruous just outta the blue..meh
@omniexistus I love the megadeus battles but this show probably could have been done without it. Then again, I get the feeling they wanted to do a big robot show that was a bit old fashion and update it. Big Robots of this type weren't in style so you can just tell they went out of their way for it.
This show is a lot like Batman... except there's a loss of memories... and an android... and a mysterious female counterpart... and giant robots... okay, so it's not really like Batman, but it still owns!
oh cheak Batman Wiki or Big O it'll tell you where that souce came from and no Bruce Timm only directed it he didnt animated it ,some of the people from sunrise did it and in one the episode the sunrise company logo made a cameo apperacne i saw that myself its in one of the 15 episode , cheak it out
@Vaxtris a lot of these are suprisingly alike except maybe rosewater, he ends up being too much of a child and Dorothy is nothing like batgirl except maybe in hair color.
The only thing that upset me was the ending... I know that its not complete but since it never will be it just seems like now all that ever happens is a constant cycle in which a New Roger, Big-O and all the villians are reborn to constantly fight.
The reset wasn't a complete one. Dorothy, for example, is wearing the black dress she only recieved after meeting Roger.
The implication is that the damage to the city was reversed, but not much else. It's unclear whether or not the villains are still around, but if they are, well, Roger now knows how to access the final stage and plasma gimmick, and he really only needs the plasma gimmick to defeat every villain in the series (even Big Fau had no method of getting through it).
True....It's like a fresh idea for an anime, or at least a not to well worn idea, cannot find better influences for music? Some of the other music was awesome, especially the battle themes. Why not be inspired by that?

Although I love this show, this theme is just a redo of the tune for Gerry Anderson's sci-fi series UFO. It's like a home or something lol

This music is almost an exact duplicate of the music from the 70's TV show UFO. Do a side by side comparison. watch?v=Y8RfzkhqBLY
gamewizard 1 year ago
@gamewizard the music composer for the series makes tributes to 70's films and shows the first opening is a tribute to queen's flash gordon song.

Actually, BTAS was designed and animated by Bruce Timm and written by Paul Dini, hence the nickname for the DCAU, 'the Diniverse'.
It is, however, true that Sunrise Studios was subcontracted by Warner for Batman The Animated Series.
Doesn't quite seem to be anything on whether or not they were ever involved with The Adventures Of Batman & Robin or The New Batman Adventures.
TNBA does have a markedly different visual style from the previous insatllments of BTAS, though.

Not at all.

@GoldenGashBell I call it a cross between batman and gundam.
Roger Smith/Bruce Wayne
Dorothy/Batgirl
Norman Berg/Alfred Pennyworth
Dan Dastun/Commissioner Gordon
Angel/Catwoman
Alan Gabriel/ The Joker
Schwarzwald/Scarecrow
Alex Rosewater/Bane (Because they're both the hardest to defeat)
How can you say its not like batman?!

@GadGades Well she's pretty much a sidekick, so I'd say she's more like Robin. I suppose she could be a mix of the 2.

Actually its a rock remix of the cult sci-fi show UFO, from the 70's I think.

What the heck do you think Roger is? XDSure he is a Negotiator but he basically is a detective.

Which is exactly what Big O is.
Big O just happens to include a giant mecha.
This is why it is awesome.
