Chet (with Paul Yandells input) awarded 4 CGPs- they're among the finest pickers ever, friends of Chets and those trusted to help continue his legacy. No picker of that caliber gets the respect or attention they deserve, pitting them against their idol is sadly mistaken. Chets legacy deserves every champion it can get. If that's how it is, computers should get slower all the time since new engineers learn from the past ones, and football players should degrade steadily too for example. Not saying much about this case, but first doesn't always equal best.

@daffydoug Amen daffydoug! Tommy wouldn't be Tommy without Chet's influence. Tommy is the greatest acoustic guitarist this day, just like Chet was the greatest guitarist period of his day (and possibly all time). I'm a huge Tommy Emmanuel fan, and just bought a great video of his titled "Tommy Emmanuel Center Stage." The song he does titled "Initiation" is one of the most incredible pieces of music I've ever heard.
Of course, Tommy is great. But he would never say that he is better than Chet was. Chet was an absolut genius. He recorded hundreds of songs in his life. I won't say Tommy is better just because he can play faster. By the way I never saw Tommy with a classical guitar. Most tunes that Chet played can't be played better, so what was your point?
