    I BEAT THIS MODE

    I FUCKING BEAT IT

  • 5:15 Woah, ok, now that was pretty fast... at least the game is o- OH, SHIT!

  • According to the tetris wiki there is a stage beyond 1300. But nobody passed the time barrior.

  • @rlawogus737 Nope, there are no graphics for S14+ grades.

  • Comment removed

  • The more I watch this, the slower and slower my perception of time becomes.

  • today i beat the time limit in this mode (level 500 by 2:28 or the game ends)

    level 500 @ 2:22:53

    died at level 515 @ 2:27:03

i feel like a boss and i have to tell you about this

  • @Altimor0 Nice. I started playing TGM too (3 Days ago). I just passed the Exam for 4 in Master. Shirase is still beyond me.

This is the first Tetris game I ever played :D

  • Are you kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me? What kind of ultimate nightmare is this? The pieces don't even fall, they fucking TELEPORT in place! How can you play that?

  • @MechagirlSachiko This mode uses 20G right from the start = They fall 20 Rows in one frame. That's why you have to be always be a bit higher in the middle of the field, so the blocks can slide down.

  • @UltraDragonDragon I see.

It must take a lot of skill to play this and not getting completely owned by the game, though. For starters, you need to think very quickly in order to stack the pieces in a way that helps you get lines fast, since I have heard this game mode in particular ends early if you don't get enough lines done in a certain time.

  • @kefkasakura @Th3lastHer0 It's Random Number God

  • What I find even more insane about this video is that in order to beat the time limits at levels 500 and 1000, the player has to lock the pieces manually, when they're already locking in 0.3 seconds or less.

  • What does Shirase mean in Japanese? I've heard it translated as "Legacy", and Google Translate spits out "Icebreaker".

  • @blueapple128 Chances are it's from the verb 知らす "shirasu", which can mean either "to know" or "to reign". It could also come from the noun 報せ "shirase", which means "notice/notification", and whose kanji also means "retribution". Unfortunately just about everywhere you see it written it's shown in Latin letters as "SHIRASE", so it's hard to really know.

  • @wohdinhel If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say it comes from "retribution", as in, the game wanting to declare revenge on Tetris players by giving them something ridiculously hard.

  • This almost lulled me to sleep. ALMOST. So... Hypnotic...

  • I think you made the RNG your bitch O,o

  • @Th3lastHer0 RNG ? Earth to Th3lastHer0, this is not Poketris.

  • @kefkasakura It means the random number generator, where did you get pokemon from?

  • @Th3lastHer0 I don't think it is called Random Number Generator. Most Shiney-fags use this term in Pokemon, so...

This is more like a random generator of pieces that put in memory the last 4 pieces.

  • This guy is so good at video games! Maybe we can get him to get the Prime Minister to mention The Game on National Television so we can all be free from it.

  • Tetris on Crack On Whatever the millennium falcon runs

  • tfifym

  • Wow, I cant even keep up with the Tetris. Then, the blocks go colorless...

    My face - :O

  • can u downloadd TGM anywhere on the computer???

  • @Galzzy102 Sudden Ti in Texmaster is a clone of TGM3's shirase mode. You can also hunt down a homebrew DS clone of TGM3.

  • Folks, I present to you...

    Tetris on crack.

  • @victorydragon S13?! WTF NOT EVEN GM!!!

  • What's with the bracket blocks? I mean, I get why the HUGE blocks might cause serious challenge.

But in between the regular blocks and the huge blocks, why regular-sized bracket blocks?

  • It's supposed to be a homage to the original Tetris game, which ran on text console monitors and used [ ] as the minos.

It's also an excellent mind screw on the player to change all pieces from colour-coded and outlined to... not. You'll note that at first the stack has a white outline around it, helping enforce the shape of the stack rather than the blob of colours contained within. Now take these away.

  • @soulcutterx13 The big blocks actually make things easier.

  • O_O...

  • Ready! Go! *game over*

    I still wonder what's past 1300...

  • Nothing. Well, we *really* *really* don't think so.

  • I heard there was something which needed some unknown conditions to get past. Hope it wasn't a hoax.

  • Indeed, Mihara (the creator) himself said that levels beyond 1300 exist. However, it's now widely believed that he was just saying that to get people to continue playing Shirase even after 4:30 1300 had been accomplished. It's been tested and results show that pretty much no humanly possible condition could result in any further levels. I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility but it is very very unlikely. Oh well, maybe if TTC lightens up a little and allows TGM4 we'll see something.

  • Level 1300 is the final level of the Shirase mode. Even today, nobody have GMed this mode.

  • Comment removed

  • You sir, are a god

  • What happens if you lose during the credits?

  • Nothing. The field just clears and resets.

  • Actually, your score shows up on the results screen with a green line under it as opposed to an orange line. This is where the terms *grade* Green/Orange Line come from. Green Line denotes a failed credit roll, and Orange Line denotes a cleared credit roll.

  • Ancestor blocks = hell

  • This guy should play Grand Master. Not to mention the speed o_o

  • This is Grand Master, Tetris Grand Master 3: Terror Instinct

  • That's not what I mean. I mean the difficulty of the game lol

  • there is flashing "demo! demo!" word flashing on screen, usually when the computer is playing, there is a flashing thing that says "demo" or, it says so somewhere onscreen. Plus computer demos don't last this long either.

  • just because ur emo

  • Who cares if hes pro He is atleast having fun at the game he likes

  • Anyone know where I can get the soundtrack for this game?

  • [I'm not sure if I gave You this hint but I'm sure

that it is somewhere on YouTube. I just don't want to be annoying]

Use Desmume (NDS emulator) to capture the sound to WAV in

NDS_TGM_20080815.nds rom (or other) Go Options->BGM

[You won't hear anything while it's recording]

and save it to WAV file.

Save as MP3 file using Nero Wave Editor. The quality should be

    perfect.

There are only TGM 2 TAP and TGM 3

soundtracks (both Master, T.A. Death and Shirase).

  • Ah, thanks very much for the advice, but I cannot get the game to boot up in the emulator. I also don't see the option to record sound. What versions are you using?

  • I have DeSmuME v0.7.2. [Config->Sound Settings->Sound Core->Wave Write Interface]. You can also use Audio Playback Recorder.

I have legal CD with Nero 6 applications to convert files.

There are some difficulties with TGM rom because it was a homebrew game. MeRAMAN was asked to remove his roms from websites, but maybe there will be some working mirrors somewhere.

Anyway, I have the Master, Shirase and end roll OST so I can put them to my videos and someone could record them to MP3 ;D

  • Ah, it was the version I was using. DeSmuME v0.9.1 does not load the rom, but v0.7.2 does. Thanks very much for helping me out.

  • *salivates at awesomeness*

  • es el puto amo.... como se aburre el tio!!!!

  • u are my new god!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what shirase mode do?

  • Shirase mode is the fastest game mode available in TGM3: Terror Instinct, and the successor to TGM2's Death Mode. The pieces land instantly in 1/60th of a second and while you may not notice it, the time in between one piece locking down and the next appearing gradually becomes shorter and shorter as you progress in the game. (continued)

  • (continued) When the staff credits start rolling the game goes into BIG mode where blocks are 4 times the regular size and you top out much faster. I have tried the Shirase BIG staffroll game conditions and I lasted exactly 13 seconds, clearing 15 lines.

  • Thanks!

  • Just because someone is good at something doesn't mean they have no life.

Thats like saying every single person on earth with a hobby has no life.

  • Uh no.

My hobby is origami, and I have a life outside of it.

Just because YOU are addicted to something does not mean that everyone else has no life.

  • God learn to spell.

And having no life means that you do nothing but play these games.

PS: it is possible to get really good over a long period of time. I have played Tetris on and off for 5 years, and have played Tetris Attack for a long time as well.

  • lol.. i have seen many retarded persons on youtube, but you take the cake..

    Ofcourse he has a life..

Just because you dont have one, doesnt mean everybody else who has a hobby or whatever has no life as well.. Rtard

  • Hahahahaha!!

    You just owned yourself..

"Retard" as in you are a retard, and "retarded" as in your whole family is retarded

  • "my family is filled with those who r mentally handicapped" - Yeah that goes without saying..

Why should i care if i insult you?

I have nothing against mentally challenged people.. just to get that straight

  • I think im going to end this by laughing at your comment.. So HAHA

  • i didnt.. i didnt looks for an argument.. i just stated the fact that you are acting like an retard by saying that people with hobbies has no life.. Thats just stupid, and if you fail to see that, then you are indeed "mentally challenged"

  • Look, Itachisgrlfriend, getting good at any hobby is perfectly fine. Doing it for fun, and happening to get better at is as time goes on is the best part to a hobby. However, like you said, as soon as you spend a significant amount of time TRAINING on a hobby, then you have no life. With sjoecool1991, who does origami FOR FUN - If he does it for the sake of doing it, he has a life, even if he spends hours doing it. If he practices with the intent of becoming an expert to show off he has no life.

  • Oh SNAP! Other people are joining in! I agree completely, but just thought I should point out, the argument ended (apparently) about a month ago.

Oh, and to both itachisgirlfriend and Rin777:

LOL ARGUMENTS N DA INTERNET EVRYBODY LOZES R-TARDZ

    DRAMADRAMADRAMADRAMADRAMADRAMA

Come on people, this argument is as pointless as a pencil with two erasers (and yes, they do in fact sell those). And FYI, yes, I am being a hypocrite to some extent by even making this comment. Hypocrisy is funny. Shut up.

  • Rey513, hehe, I know I wasn't really helping the problem by adding onto the argument, but expressing opinions is what the comments are all about right? I like your comment about the pencils, since it wraps up the entire argument (strange as it sounds).

  • You guys are all retards.

Mastery at a video game is not necessarily inversely proportional to social life.

  • Some people that are "no-life experts" make damn good money off video games. If you win even a smaller tournament you can take home 250 bucks. If you win a big one you can get 1,000 to 5,000 bucks, and that's in unpopular games. It's usually not enough to live off of, but making that kind of money as a side job for very little "work" is a nice payoff. (The pay per hour can be astounding. Tournaments don't last that long and you can get huge pay) So yeah, think about that.

  • You can actually take "Cyber-games Tournament 2008" for an example.

  • I know I'm dredging up something from like almost a year ago and I shouldn't be, but dude, gs68 was being sarcastic, and that's not hard to see whatsoever.

Anyway, TGM is insane, blah blah blah, seen it all before.

  • Doesn't matter if he was being sarcastic. Since not everyone will read it that way, it matters very little if he was being sarcastic or not, unless it's REALLY fucking obvious. Therefore, I respond to comments like that seriously. That said, I'm a member of a dedicated TGM forum that gs68 is also part of, and I'm shocked I didn't recognize his name. As for responding to year old comments: It happens all the time.

  • It /was/ really fucking obvious. His previous comment was one vehemently attacking the "zomg no life" side, it doesn't take very long to figure out that his next comment was tongue-in-cheek.

But hey, if you want to pretend taking sarcasm as sincerity and making yourself look dumb to everyone is a matter of no importance, more power to ya...

  • @gs68 Well said.

  • @gs68: No, but it *usually* is. And it’s not the game. It’s the player already being like that. The game just happens to be his replacement. Buy anything could be a replacement. Drugs, games, even cleaning up. Important PROTIP: That doesn’t make the games or cleaning up addictive! It means the person has a problem, with or without the replacement thing!

  • lols at internet arguement!

  • this guys brain works so fast he holds the right blocks so well

  • oh, my, fucking, god o_O

  • omfg you are like just as good without it being colour coded! thats insane...

i bet you see tetris in your sleep

  • I don't understand this shit at all. My brain can't process information even half as fast as this video.

  • when I seen the big pieces I shit my pants

  • fuck this

  • Totally!

    Fun to watch, tough

  • I freaked out. LOL

  • ......

  • omg..

  • Wow, he's good. Alot of times I thought that he was done for when he had a huge gap buried under blocks but he always came out on top. Nice!

  • wow!

    such accuracy.

    impressive

  • Tetris like it's supposed to be played. The (early) climax of video games.

  • I'd love it if there was a PC port to this game... it's just awesome.

  • I would kill for a PC port of this (assuming its an arcade game and not on the PC); I just love the sounds and graphics and whatnot. Oh yeah, great vid.

  • How can a person think that fast????

  • I wish we had this version of tetris near me, none of the games I play offer any challenge

  • that is beyond insane.

  • At the end makes the beginning look like fooling around. That is ridiculous speed and is awesome!

  • OMFG!

  • I think it's an arcade game with arcade style joystick and buttons.

  • i dont get how he can move the pieces so fast and rotate them so quickly, what controller design is he using???? sorry for being a newb totally but i was wondering how that sort of speed can be performed

  • Certain modes like this in the TGM series have pieces that fall to the bottom within one frame. To counteract this, it's possible to pre-rotate the piece in the 'next piece' window before it even hits the playfield.

  • What actually happens is there's a certain amount of time before the piece gets 'lockdown' in which it can't be moved anymore. During that time it's possible to maneuver and rotate the piece before it becomes locked in the playfield. It's also possible to delay the 'lockdown' time by making the piece drop down another line, each line it drops down resets the 'lockdown' timer. If you look closely, the piece rotate as they're on the playfield.

  • i tough i was good... lol i suk compare to this

  • scary..

    feel uncomfortable..........

  • Love this video.It's awesome!
