  • i love this march, i also love KL King my school only play his marches

  • My band geek friends and I were all going on a weekend church retreat the week before a concert when were playing this. We would all just sit around the fire humming our parts, and we got the weirdest looks from people! :D This will always be the only non-circus march I truly love.

  • We played this two years ago in 9th grade. We had a band of about 80 people. 15 trumpets, 4 horns, 4 tubas, 6 trombones, 14 clarinets, 16 saxes, from bari to alto, 14 flutes, 4 misc. woodwinds, and 8 perc.

  • Cool! Our 7th grade band will play this at our next concert, but we go slower than this.

  • Yesterday, we sight read this song. And the whole band fell in love with it. We are doing it for our next concert in May.

  • My Middle School All-districk band played this. I loved playing it. I played Trombone.

  • i play flute, and i'm absolutely in love with this song. :D

  • We just played this song at a competition. I play trombone and just hated the trio. It was so hard to get it to sound in tune with the rest of the band.

  • i love this song i play crash lawl i poped one of my cymbals playin at 70 XD

  • hii!! awesome job!! what age group was this?!?!! :) you guys were good!

  • 9-12th grade :) Gracias!

  • Great performance! I especially liked how you slowed down at the repeat of the trio and sped up!

  • I liked that too!

    :D

  • playing this for 9th grade though a bit slower

  • Im playing this in my eigth grade band :] i find this song really fun :D

  • We are playing this. II hate this march. I hate playing it because i'm a horn and I hate the tune at the Trio. I asked my director if he was going to pick a march to play please pick sousa and he said no.

  • Aw xD

Yeah our horn (yes, we only had one lonely horn) didn't like this one.

I don't think. Well that was two years ago.

  • @jkman10 i know how you fell my lung's felt like they were going to fall out of my chest

  • how big is this band? :D we are playing this march for U.I.L. Competition. was it difficult?

  • Hmm, I think that year we were about thirty-something. This march really isn't that hard :) Good luck at competition! :D

  • well for a band that small its pretty amazing! and well thanks!

  • Did you find this song difficult ot play?

  • Nah. It's in cut time though

  • i hate cut time it sucks and the songs sound retarded

  • Played way too fast. This is a Karl KIng March, not a Karl KIng Galop like Rough Riders. Play it like a normal march 120 beats per minute. Good accenst on the cymbals and bass drum!! Rollie Jensen, drummer, Karl KIng Band, Ft. Dodge, Iowa

  • sweet! thanks for the advice

  • thank you for posting this! since i can't find it on napster, smartmusic, anywhere... i play in a community band and we were handed this kinda late. it's easy to play but i find music even easier to play anything if i hear a recording first. y'all sound great!

  • haha thanks!

that's one good reason why i put these videos on here.

  • at my school were playing this as our contest music, its my favorite piece and its really fun.

  • mm yes. i love the break strain in this one :D

  • that baritone is really doing a good job

  • we have realllllly good baritones :D

one of them went to all state like three years [maybe two..] in a row!

  • Good job for not slowing down at 1:00

The clarinets in my band have a problem with that.

    Great low brass.

  • thank you :]

  • my school plays it and it sucks

  • us too... its boring we played the big cage last year it was super fun

  • were doing thing piece for a 7th and 8th grade spring concert and i think its a cool piece. im a trombonist so i kinda dont get a real melody in like, any pieces. even tho the low brass doesnt exactly have the melody, i still think its pretty cool.

  • weird.... my school is playing this song for a 7th+8th grade spring concert too!!! and im a trombonist too!!! (the only girl for that matter...)

  • wow.. that is weird... im the only girl 2... ahaha. its sooo hard being the only girl!!!!

  • so are we.....

  • Terrific! I'm a band director at a Christian School in Deltona Fl and can certainly appreciate the smaller band size. We have about 45 in our upper group which is a combination of 6th-12th grades. You all play very well for a smaller ensemble, clean and careful attention is evident. I always tell my kids it's quality not quantity we're after. Best of luck to you all in the future!!

  • thank you!

  • My school is going to get to play this with the presidents band.
