Most likely, the AR thought that the deflection at 0:05 was made by a red player, then the player would be offside. But this was not the case. It is very difficult to call offside, IT LOOKS EASY, but trust me people, it is DIFFICULT. Depth perception is key. There is simply too much to take notice of when calling offside, and that is why there are so many bad calls.

The ref. couldnt have possibly seen that frei was onside from where he was. Only where the AR (assistant ref.) was has a clear view, and that is why the refs always follow the ARs advice on the offside decision. In this case the ref was so delighted to give swiss the score and get him self a pay rise.. he was so excited he even fell over.

one problem... as you saw, the ref was right. I don't care what you say, the video replay shows that Frei was onside when the Swissman played the ball, which is what counts. Also, even if that wasn't what counted, the Korean played it back, so under FIFA rules he isn't offsides because the opponent played it to him. Unintentionally, I know, but he still isn't offsides.

Morale is pretty important to strikers. I'm a striker for my team and I get really stressed when my team is losing. My knowledge of the game gets a bit distorted because all I'm thinking about is scoring. It gets worse when the defenders and goalie constantly block your shot.

there was absolutely NO sportsmanship in this game..before, switzerland had handled the ball TWICE and got the goal it WITH THEIR HAND. this time, you can clearly see the side ref put up his flag. if the ref had called all of these, the score may have been 0-0. korea may not have skills but switzerland clearly did not have any sportsmanship.

FIFA reward positive football which equates to attacking football, there was contact and he was in a scoring position..so he had the right to go down acting or not.

This is a good example of corruption, you can't tell me that that referee wasn't receiving something for those desicions. It's irrelevant concerning how long ago it took place.
