Wow. I think that's the point of burning man, to the last commenter... To have at least 1 week of freedom from the cops, freedom from paperwork/licenses going through multiple bureaucracies just to set up your artwork, etc. If people are hurt, then the cops should be there. They clearly are doing just fine though.
Burning Man is just free, unbridled creativity.
I'd like to go there one day.
I wish there was a state or a country that was that free.

no..there are drugs there, a lot of hippies attend, and it has a pagan-like burning of a statue..but it's none of those things. you don't need drugs to have an amazing time, "normal" people go all the time, and burning the man just means screw beaurocracy and screw the system
