I think you did a great thing to save Doogie and it is very strange that the police and the DA, judge made this action illegal. Isn´t animal abuse a crime? You did what animal cops do on Animal planet and it is truly great to see people who dedicate themselves for the animals who suffer from bad treatment. They're not allowed to apply human principles and a judgement of what is right or wrong.

They simply deal with people who break the law and in this case she did break the law.

Also I would imagine due to the way it was collected, the evidence (video) would be inadmissible in court.

It is ridiculous that she is punished and he is let of free but its not the judges fault, technically she did break the law even is she is living proof that sometimes rules do need to be broken.

I agree that by the letter of the law, yes, Tammy did the wrong thing. But even with conviction it was at the judges discretion to give a more lenient sentence than the 300hrs community service (with a human associated only organization) and the approximate $3000 she had to pay. But that sentence was even further compounded by the judges comments condemning Tammy for her actions, even saying she was a disgrace to her cause. This could have and should have ended very differently

I just came across Doogie's case, and I'm so very sorry for his passing.

Thank you for rescuing this poor animal and making his last 5 months a happy one. You are truly selfless people, and I truly admire you for that.

Justice will be served in the end. It may not be what we envision, but what goes around comes around. Doogie's rescuers will be infinitely blessed and the people who allowed him to suffer will be eternally damned.

I think you have your facts messed up. Tammy rescued Doogie after Doogie's neighbor called in desperation. She then placed him in a foster home so that he could live out the rest of his life in love and luxury. He passed away from old age - if it wasn't for Tammy and Doogie's foster home, he would have died tied up in his old backyard. Tammy is a hero, not the animal abuser here. But instead of the former owners being charged with animal cruelty, Tammy is being charged for "stealing" him.

I am appalled at the fact that the PENN. State has treated Tammy this way. I will be writing to everyone and anyone I can think of about how ignorant they are. Unbelievable. I highly recommend Tammy and her team appeal this as far as they can go. Then, IF they happen to fail the appeal attempt, then take it to FOX or a major news network. This is seriously an ignorant red-neck move by Pennsylvania authorities.

Tammy, What you did is called noble and courageous. I live in the katrina disaster area, and rescued many dogs in similar conditions . Chaining dogs as a sole means of restraint is now illegal here, and it should be there also. Bless you for saving Doogie so he could enjoy what little life he had left.
