Nice landing, on the centreline. The aircraft appears to be too light as far as it concerns the fuels, or too heavy but slow approach speed, due to the fact that the stabilizer's angle is too steep. Could not figure out though if the flaps were 35 or 50. Overall you get my vote mate. I have more than 1000 landings on the specific aircraft on FSX @ visual and more than 50 on CAT III ILS (0 Visibility). I hope we could exchange views on the handling of the specific A/C.

@TheLordHodne Hi! The MD-11 is still in service with some operators. As well, smaller aircraft fly with three engines, like the Dassault Falcon 900.

@Knife4life123 I'm guessing you're asking whether this is now for Mac. Truth is that Microsoft Flight Simulator was developed for Windows exclusively, hence being developed by Microsoft. You can find another widely known flight simulator out for both Windows and Mac called X-Plane.

I'm not an expert so can you explain to me what FMC is?

The FMC is the Flight Management Computer. It's what holds your flight plan and what allows you to configure all aspects of flights in order to let the autopilot fly the aircraft. There are usually 1-3 FMC's on an modern airliner. It looks like a calculator and has alphanumeric keys. Both the Captain and FO have their own FMC's.

This is Flight Simulator 2004. I bought it back when it was released. Matter of fact, I'm planning on starting flight training soon. We'll see how thing go. :)

I agree. It looks exceptional. The slightly dirty sections of fuselage, slightly dirty looking ailerons-- it just looks so much like the real thing- having seen real use. It's brilliant. Truly the most impressive plane I have seen in FSX. It is exceptional.

This is one of my favorites to fly. However, you need to program every flight if you want to experience this simulation fully. It's not a simple load up and fly airplane. Please, don't hesitate on buying this one, it is a piece of art that will forever live on in the FS community, as corny as that sounds. I don't regret the buy and the price is perfectly reasonable, even if many disagree. ;)

So you actually have to program everything into the flight computer on the aircraft rather than in the FS menus like the PMDG 747 right? That's neat.

Just like the PMDG 747, it comes with menus, and just like the MD-11, you need to program the 747.

What I meant was that you *can* take off right away, but the plane won't be *flyable*... For one thing, you won't get your V speeds if you don't program the FMC on the ground.

To be honest, you shouldn't be asking me this question. If you don't think it's worth spending money on, you shouldn't be complaining. The team over at PMDG spend YEARS developing this bird. They worked side by side with real MD-11 engineers and pilots to get this thing just right.

You're better off using a freeware MD-11.

It comes with an installer. The setup is in a zip file which you would have to extract and the you would simply run the installer, point it to FS and install.

You may also want to delete your default traffic after installing or at least back it up if you decide to un-install SkAI.
