@Adodereader1 in case you haven't noticed there are more countries in the world than just england and this video isn't aimed at people who are already in a team or club this is for people wanting to have a good knowledge of techniques before joining one
the problem here is that hes making this seem like its so difficult. almost every kid can do this in nz. easy. they can all flick pass like benji. you guys try make it a science. when its simple. i honestly dont get this "how to play rugby" because theres so many different styles.. and as for advanced.. like i said. theres little 6 year olds who can grubber better then this dude.
@AlexisV21 the point of rugby is to score tries, a tri is scored by running the bacll into the other teams trizone, and touching the ball to the ground, the team with the most tries at the end of the game, wins. :D
not exactly correct, tries are a way of scoring, but you can also drop kick between the goal posts for a few points, theres also conversions after tries like in american football, so its more like the more points you score you win
haha i cant understand what the heck this guy is saying... LOL i thought he was scotish until the camera got close enough to hear him. its kinda funny.
Silly American, you can't teach someone to kick a grubber while you're standing still. Alex, I know preschool kids that could teach you a thing or two. Stick to Football and the other shit sports you guy's play. WANKER!!!!!!
its gonna take a long time for the u.s. to have rugby all over the country and in youth programs almost everyone picks it up in college and plays for a couple years. thats like expecting a cricket player to be able to hit a 90 mph curveball because you changed the uniform and gave him a diff bat. and saying 9/11 was funny is oretty sad
A gary owen is my favourite kick where you kick the ball straight over the defence, run through and catch it against the run of play thus giving you a big advantage if you pull it off.
Lol, i am south african and i can safely say that america can play rugby as they showed in the world cup but they are not to the standards of the 6-nations or tri-nations. But, it will take a while.
Yeah we're the elite europeans!! look how much better we are than countries where less than 1% of the population actually knows what rugby is, let alone know the rules!!! --- Keep on being stuck-up, arrogant, self righteous little pricks. With a population as large as ours, as soon as rugby starts getting some recognition, and we convert our american football players to rugby players, you guys are gonna get your asses steamrolled. It won't be long til the usa is a power at rugby
and you should really have a few (2-4) phases where u allow the forwards to hit it up then if nothing good is happening you should pass it out to the backs, they then can give the chip over the heads and score or whatever...
you dont actually play so shut up. i guarantee ur brit players dont give a fuck who u are and dont care so stop idolizing someone you have no relation with.
or avoid the tackle, recollect the ball and go on to score a try. after all, it's the try scorers that get remembered, not the ones that got flattened by the other team.
I would love to show someone how to run somebody over though, and how to make somebody look like an idiot when he tries to hit me when I have the ball. These are the advanced drills my friends and they are the ones that make a rugby practise fun!! and also if you want to learn how to pass really well even while you are getting hit or maybe just out in the open. most canadians and americans lack these basic skills the most and thats why these videos are kinda ironic!! lol
what these guys are doing is great just so i dont offend the americans or canadians, but on a more serious note nothing they are teaching is advanced, advanced drills are played live and with real people not a bag representing a person. The best way to learn though is to actually play and to practise for yourself, you need to hand eye co-ordination to perfect any of these drills so there is no way of doing that other than to practise it live!
I agree that it's good to get hands on experience in Rugby, but for a beginner, I need to learn indirectly as well as that I way I have an idea what to do next practice.
I live in Finland and we have only few clubs here and the closest to me are quite far away. Some people don't have the chance for practice 2 - 3 times a week and the best I can do to begin with is watch and analyze videos to get to know basic techniques and tactics. There are also 15 positions on the field and there's not enough time for 1 or 2 coaches to guide everyone through it all and refine their skills. That's where videos like this come in handy.
an hes an unco-as if u do a grubber kick like a soccer goaly kicks the ball-pretty sure u kick it facing straight-also americans should never teach any1 on how to do things-cuz ur all uncs
Lets settle this. With your foot facing downward you create a harder foot therefore a better kicking surface, the ball will go further and be more accurate. Fact - This is how Jonny Wilkinson kicks.
that's not true. i play rugby, and to do that kick (a soccer kick) you must put the front of your foot facing downwards. the ball will ALWAYS go forward. this video could really help newbie players.
ya tryna say that i don't play rugby ? i've been playin this game for goddamn 12 years so stfu.yeah the ball will bounce FORWARD but its won't be STRAIGHT.
i mean, i have also been playing rugby for more than 10 years, but you have to be some kinda stupid if you miss the ball.. if your foot is facing downwards, the ball will have more speed and WILL go forward.
are you on crack.. it looks like haydeetodo knows what he's talking about.. as for you.. you must play american football, and pretend you know what you're talking about.. lemme guess.. they wouldn't let u in the NFL. bud, physics say the ball will go forward, unless the ball is isn't semetrical and out of shape.. then u need a new rugby ball.
This isn't advance in England most guys who play rugby in a club or school can do this by 10 haha
