    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !…

  • US. space shuttles are best impressive delivery equipment in the world. Grande worse that they already will not be along proudly jockey :((((

  • What kind of idiot posted and edited this video? What those comments are for? Damn... :-(

  • what`s in the background at 9:21 (down right corner) little whit things moving

  • How boring he is with those grey bubbles!

  • Be better if he could spell. I have no idea what an 'ingination' is.

Cease the stupid speech bubbles were not deaf.

  • @Methanoladdict

Yeah, the speech bubbles are uneccessary, but you can disable them if you want to.

  • long live aeronatics...

  • and astronautics

  • i'VE BEEN THERE! ;-)

  • I want to go to flordia so bad before the shuttle retires

  • I bet that it Gets really Loud and Makes my Heart Race When it is turned On

  • Hell yea!!! have you been to a airshow and see a modern USAF jet fly by??? rocket is louder than that!!!

  • Right before the fuel tank was dropped, you see flashes or something like flames around the space shuttle. It's circular shaped around the shuttle and at 09.15 you hear a "boom". Does it have something to do with the engines or what is it?

    Greetings from germany

  • that is the fluid effect in zero gravity

  • i i probably a sonic boom like concorde used to

  • what happens to the external fuel tank??? do they just leave it in space ? and becomes space trash ?

  • Fuel tank gets drop about 8 minutes after launch, it HAS NOT establish a orbit with that speed yet. then the Tank will fall back down around indian ocean. the shuttle, will then fire its engine few times to increase orbit size and attitude. so it will not freefall back down the earth.

  • i was there! its was breath-taking!

you never realise how amazing it is until you see a life launch.

me n my family were on holiday in florida when we saw it, i remember the day exactly! it was so busy at the KSC but soooo worth it!

we watched it from as close as the general public are allowed :)

  • I wanted to go to Flordia before 2010, before the last mission. I live in Kansas, so I wanted to see this in real life, TV does not shows the experience, my own eyes & ears can.

  • iwas there....it was awsome. they were taking kibo to the iss

  • Nice video, nice launch! However AtlantiXYL - before many more ppl see it, just change the spelling at 0:45 to ignition (not igination) :)

  • gotta love nasa

  • so clean

  • this is sunday march 15, right

  • no! it was MAY 31, 2008. STS 124. the one you saw was STS 119 last week. the flight number was disorganized because of the accident of STS 107, Columbia. things went out of order.

  • I dont want to bring down anyone's mood, but I wonder how the 51-L launch would have looked with all those different camera views and the hi-def.

  • fantastic! I love every space launch!! This was great because instead of cutting out after the launch they followed the Discovery into space, amazing stuff these people can do!

  • yeah thats to bad they are discontinuing the shuttles in 2010. ): But guess what kevmccln, you don't have to wait as long as you think because Ares 1-x is luanching in april of 2009!! (: Not tested but actually launched!!

  • The main engine nozzle is so nice. so good, so make me like science.

  • Shuttle launches won't be going on for much longer. We better enjoy these while we can. Only seven launches left, then nothing until Orion in 2014... if that.

  • you re right man. we better pay attentation to those shuttle from now on. it's so important

  • pretty boring but amazing at the same time!!

  • it's not boring. if you like it and know everything they talk about. all the chemistry and physics is exciting when you know them.

  • Boring? You don't understand what's happening. This is almost technically impossible, and highly dangerous, with equipment operating at the extreme range of physical performance.
