  • why cant music be like this anymore.... makes me a sad panda

  • Listen to this and you can see where Motley Crue got it's inspiration for "Live Wire" it's almost an ode to Queen their basically the same tempo and the lyrics are delivered in similar fasion. As Nikki Sixx was a huge fan of Queen and writes most of their songs..To me this was an early version of Metal and a glimpse into rock n roll's future.

  • Sounds like freddy is playing a guitar solo with his voice... epic

  • The first thrash metal song :D

  • This song sounds more like something that Motorhead or Raven would record than Metallica or Slayer.

  • this song makes me wanna drink, fight, and fuck something

  • @hollowskull100 dont they appreciate the value of a beautiful song? and who knows, there could've been another purpose for covering the song.

  • The first Thrash Metal song

  • personally, i hate it when people do covers of songs (even if they're awesome bands like Metallica). I mean, if the song's so good, just leave it alone. Freddie Mercury=god.

  • @jbfamequeen What's wrong with covers? People play covers to show appreciation, how much they love the song. I mean if your so bothered, just leave it alone. :P

  • Wow did queen invent Thrash Metal. This and some of Black Sabbath's songs were Thrash Metal before that term was even invented.

  • @laclavicie Believe me when i say, i know my "Rockology" but i did not know Queen was this heavy. I admire Queen for their talent and i like a few songs but i've never been a real fan. I always thought Black Sabbath invented thrash with "Symptom Of The Universe" but holy shit i never heard this song before, my god.

  • @mahavishnuxc Yeah, though they kind of settled into a single sound in the 80's, during the 70's Queen were all over the place stylistically. It was like they played the hell out of whatever style they liked, then did it again but with their own twist, then moved on to the next one, all while keeping a singular tone of their own.

It takes actually listening to all the styles they did to realize just how little they cared, as if they just said "Fuck it, we'll play whatever the hell we want."

  • While we are all still admiring Freddie's genius, let's not forget the incredible guitar solo in the middle, with the delay that Brian May has perfected in other songs as well, such as Now I'm Here.

  • always a fantastic song

  • Heavy riffs, man.

  • Fuck the haters. Still my favorite fucking song.

  • 10 people are tone deaf

  • Heavy shit and awesome if I may say so. We fans miss you Freddie, R.I.P.

  • this is an amazing band. Freddy Mercury's theatrical abilities and voice are amazing. The guy could have cleaned up Broadway if he wanted to go that route. I love this song. Thank you so much for posting it. I appreciate it.

  • I fucking love this song. It's like Motorhead/Judas Priest hybrid with that magical charm that is Freddy's voice added into the mix.

  • The Eleven cover of this song kicks way too much ass.

  • Sounds thrash metally to me.

  • These guys ripped off Metallica.

  • @antdigger Obvious troll is obvious

  • @antdigger No, this song is originally by Queen from 1974. Metallica covered the song.

  • @antdigger your a poser dude...Queen did the original song..Metallica covered it..dont comment unless you know what your talking about

  • @antdigger THESE GUYS?!?!?!?! You are a retard. "these guys" are one of the best rock bands of all time. When freddie mercury died, james hetfield asked if he could perform this song at the benefit concert. Even on fucking Guitar Hero Metallica, which version did they pick? oh yeah THIS ONE. Go troll on a Ke$ha video dipshit

  • The coolest gay guys are Mercury, Elton John, and Rob Halford

  • This song is too short.

  • The only sausage fest I would ever like to be in.

  • who the hell thinks queen has ever been a metal band or led zepplin for that matter this is one of the few fast songs queen ever did lets see is my best friend a metal song then queen did that or how about fat bottom girls or bicycle race lets see who could forget that metal classic i want to break free look the people who say they are metal is most likely because they have heard the metallica cover of this song and have never listened to one of the most brilliant all around bands ever

  • @sdc39 Metal doesn't have to be fast. You're thinking about thrash and speed metal. In fact, some of the heaviest metal songs ever (Electric Wizard's "Funeralopolis" and "Wizard in Black" comes to mind) are doom metal songs.

But other than that, I agree with every word you said.

  • you know, this is basically what they would call a patter song in musical theater and operetta circles because of the high speed delivery of the text.... but of course it's on steroids

  • 1000th like

  • Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning I been dreaming I was Al Capone There's a rumor going round Gotta clear outta town Yeah, I'm smelling like a dry fish bone Here come the law Gonna break down the door Gonna carry me away once more Never, I never, I never want it anymore Gotta get away from this stone cold floor Crazy... Stone cold crazy, you know
  • I liked the metallica version but this is pretty good 2 :D long live rock and metal.

  • Somethings wrong with the video.

It only replays when I click replay.

  • Freddie Mercury pissed off

  • Freddie you drive me crazy...and I like that!

  • my first metal song

  • @AMDfreak27 Cool ^^

  • @AMDfreak27 No it's not, not at all. You are about 5-6 years off.

  • @VirtualDynamite I said it was MY first metal song, not THE first metal song, reading comprehension FTW

  • @AMDfreak27 How the hell is this metal...

  • @GuitarFreako46 in the same respect Black Sabbath is metal and Deep Purple is metal and Led Zepplin. Educate yourself before you sound dumb again.

  • @AMDfreak27 Led Zeppelin is NOT metal either.

  • @GuitarFreako46 Communication Breakdown.

  • @RedWolf3487 I love the song, but it's not really metal...

  • Comment removed

  • @AMDfreak27 Ur stone cold crazy!

  • @GuitarFreako46 can't tell if troll or just stupid...

  • @JsRf13 I'm not gonna argue.

  • @GuitarFreako46 definitely not a troll then, just stupid

  • I see a recommended video called "Stone Cold Crazy (Thrash Version)". But... this IS the thrash version!!

  • @RedOctober59 It's the trash version. The Metallica version is the only version thrashier than this.

  • I love queen, this song is great

brian may is my favorite guitarist.

freddie mercury was super handsome and a great frontman, maybe the best ever.

roger taylor is a bomb ass drummer and is actually a really good singer.

john deacon is one of the few memorable bassists.

But, to me at least, this picture looks like they just got done sexing eachother. Maybe it's me.

  • Queen was twenty, if not thirty years ahead of their time, both here and on other songs.

  • Happy mother fuckin' birthday Freddie.

  • Possibly the first real use of palm mute riffing.

  • one of the few early queen tracks with a songwriting credit to all four members

  • This is the REAL version. Metallica did it justice, but nobody can top Queen originals. It just isn't mean to be. Like covering Sabbath songs...yeah it's cool, but it still doesn't have that same 70's vibe. ;)

  • @strangersound IDK. I think Trent Reznor managed to really top the overt sexiness (and all-out fuck-brawl) of Get Down Make Love.

I've read somewhere that Freddie Mercury and Brian May actually liked Reznor's cover, nearly to the point of preferring it to their own. (Of course, Freddie Mercury was an orgasm-addict, so...that might explain it.)

  • too bad it's only 2 minutes long.

  • @jfvign "It was a soundstage on Mars."

  • I get so hyped up whenever I hear this song. ACK! It's like having really, really good sex.

  • @Sh3llyl0sth3rm1nd only two minutes long?

  • @shjervenst "Two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven." :D HA-HA! HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER! I've been waiting MONTHS to use that line.

  • so i read that this song was "thrash metal before the invention of the term" or something like that. good song. not thrash. maybe an influence on the genre but not close.

  • Comment removed

  • @boomhauer15 Check the live versions (Earls court, houston) - maybe closer2 thrash. Genres aren't made in a day! SCC was late 60s garage band writing/jam sat around until Queen had to crank out new LP after aborted US tour- became more thrash than other stuff back then. They often don't fit even existing genres esp in 70s: prog too compacted/manic, punk too sophisticated, psychedelia too composed/pop, hard rock too un-bluesy/theatrical + their camp/goof. it's familiar now but odd/mocked then.

  • @edmame

PS. Rainbow '74 is heavy enough too.

  • Now that's fucking singing!!! Whole Quebec city singing together with James Alan Hethfield!!!!! Metal4Ever!!

  • So fucking different than Metallica's "real" version. This one sucks!!!

  • @jfvign die

  • @DuppyBruh I'm probably sure that there are ropes and bridges close to where you live.... Try it first ant tell me how it was!!

  • @DuppyBruh stupid dumpshit!!!

  • @jfvign the fish talk to me......THE FISH TALK TO ME!!! I HATE YOU DAD

    ..where am I??

  • @DuppyBruh WTF ???

  • @jfvign P.S. the sarcasm wasnt very apparent when i read the comment quickly

    my bad

  • @jfvign Both you and James Hetfield can go eat a dick.

  • way more badass than any rap song.

  • @deathtouch100 metalica didnt put nearly as much heart and soul into this as queen did. If queen had never existed neither would metalica. your argument is invalid

  • i find this album cover very sexy!

  • One of my favs! We love you Freddie!!!

  • if I can't go to heaven, well then let me go to hell... awesome

  • Whoever disliked this is gay, and they're not a cool gay like Mercury was.

  • When I heard Metallica did a cover of this I screamed out loud I was so excited! But nothing beats the original!

  • GREAT RAP METAL SONG!!!

  • @MattL883 this is just metal. before rap existed.

  • I've always like this one, but then who can't like Queen???

@MattL883 WTF is wrong with your brain!? First off, rap metal??? WTF? Secondly, this could be considered early thrash at best. Barely.

  • @MattL883 ?

  • the only words i unterstood from this song were stone cold crazy...

    oh well still thumbs up

  • Here's the original version, kiddies ;)

  • Ronnie Dio, Freddy Mercury, Bruce Dickinson, and Rob Halford. All amazing singers.

  • Queen Queen in the butt lol....Rock On !!!

  • THIS SONG KICKS ASS!!

    wish it was longer though

  • This song kicks ass!

    FREDDIE WINS!!!!

  • @TheOberon8

this user has the best version :QueenLive1974

  • This song is the pioneer of Thrash metal.

    Hail queen and slayer.

  • @zaktan415 They are far from pioneers of Thrash Metal, Deep purple creates Speed Metal with the son Hard Lovin Man, they also had songs like Fireball and Highway Star.

  • @thegreenmanalish1000 Yeah but queen is the most surprising, an freddie sings very well, so yeah i prefer to think it's queen

  • i'm flicking my wrist.

  • 70's heavy metal for ever!!!!

  • did freddie say he was dreaming he was al capone?? well guess i aint the only one tht dose tht:)

  • example of speed metal?

  • @carlosestra89 Try Motorhead.

  • this sounds like it could be a song from kill em all. i guess they did have a huge influence on metallica.

  • @bml106 didn't they cover it on Garage Days Ep or maybe something else?

  • 7 people are Stone Cold Crazy!!!!!!!

  • Stupid ads!!! GET OFF OF MY SCREEN AND DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH-YEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @faboo93 Get Ad Block Plus mate

  • metal is not my thing but this song gets me hype!!!

  • according to wikipedia this is heavy metal :)

  • Takes me back to my college days, wonder if my college student daughter would have recognized (or acknowledged) me from those days. Back when was rock was rock, not rap or boy bands. The 70's was a great era.

  • reminds me of a bit of van halen?haha but this kicks ass(:

  • if u've ever doughted Qnueens ablity 2 rock think again!!!!!!

  • ah

    60s 70s and 80s

    the golden age of rock

its good to be addicted to rock :D i wish i was born in the 60s

  • I would not argue that gamemeister27, certainly james hetfirld could not match Freddies voice

  • This song and a couple of Sabbath tracks as well as some wicked punk rifs have lots to do with the creation of thrash music. not too many thrash bands had church choir backing vocals. Epic music all the same and timeless no mater how you wish to spin it, except backwards in a church, trying to debunk everything I just said. Keep yourself alive!

  • I love both Queen and Priest, but Freddy mercury had a better voice than halford

  • @deathtouch100 To be fair, Freddy Mercury had a better voice than almost everyone alive.

  • @gamemeister27 his name's FREDDIE or FARROKH never freddy!

  • @gamemeister27 i could only put robert plant in that mix that is all i know

  • @gamemeister27 Almost?

  • @gamemeister27 you are righ

  • @gamemeister27 I agree, I always rank him next to Jim Morrison

  • @Mance200

Axl Rose is a fucking dickface

  • @Mance200 Axl Rose can't fucking sing to save his life

  • @gamemeister27 not better than me!, oh i keep forgetting that was a dream

  • @gamemeister27 freddy mercury had the best voice ever. i don't think anyone has the same stuff he had and never will be another one like him.

  • @JTERIOS The best voice ever is James Hethfield's or Dave Mustain's. Everybody else is just bullshit!!

  • @JTERIOS The best voice ever is James Hethfield's or Dave Mustaine's. Everybody else is just bullshit!!

  • @jfvign Megadeth is a great band, one of my favorite in fact but I harbor no delusion that Dave Mustaine is a great singer, unique maybe and good for their sound and Style but to say him or James Hetfield are better than far better hard rock/heavy metal singers such as Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Geoff Tate, Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant or Roger Daltry is just pure ignorance.

  • @JTERIOS Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Geoff Tate all have similar voices, both in range and caliber. They're all very good.

  • yeppers before Metallica. Queen did create this song and did it better

  • how does this vid have less than metallica's? really people...

  • @ZACKnirvana Probably because most Metallica fans who have their heads stuck up their asses didn't know Metallica's version was a cover. I agree with you sir, it is a disgrace.

  • @MrCrowley3845 truly freddy mercury is the paragon of the music world.

  • Queen up your ass <3

  • @MasterXeo hahaha literally!

  • @MasterXeo

And Freddie took up his and around the corner

  • @MasterXeo no thanks i prefer queen in my ears :3

  • @MasterXeo I get it, cause theyre all gay. Thats funny.

  • @steeveewuzzheer1992 The only gay one was Freddie but he was Bi so half gay, but who cares

  • @crazyvitod I get it, cause they're all gay. Thats also funny.

  • Jajaja that´s why wikipedia says it´s the first Thrash song. In my opinion, the instrumental rythm is similar to Thrash, but the structure, the vocals and sound is more like Hard Rock. Awesome song, my uncle has this at home, but i can´t play it.

  • Queen always the first.
