So for the engineers to figure out why those 40 cars experienced these issues and the other 8 Million didnt is not easy. The way this issue was handled was deliberately blown out of proportion in order to scare people away from a historically solid company, so that GM might prosper.

They couldn't reproduce the problem, it is very hard to reproduce. Look at it this way, out of the 8.5+ million cars, only about 1500 experienced an issue, or 1 in every 5666 cars.
Do you have an extra 5666 cars laying around that you can test or try to replicate a random problem on? No, and neither does Toyota, since their cars actually sell, so it is very hard to reproduce an issue that is at best extremely random. Quit listening to the Government's & media's BS.

Not to mention the fact that when I get into my GM vehicle not only will it get me 2 or 300000 miles if I want to keep it that long but I dont have to worry about it killing me. The United States Treasury still owns 61% of GM and as long as it is that way, GM has not paid back "every last cent" until "we" Americans cash out our investment which is valued near $45 Billion in stock.

If knew anything you would know that of the 8+million cars recalled there were only something like 40 legitimate complaints. So for the engineers to figure out why those 40 cars experienced these issues and the other 8 Million didnt is not easy. It takes time, modern cars are very complex & have many variables when diagnosing problems.
How come your not hearing about Ford's problem with unintended acceleration too? Odd isn't it? No hysteria?

This commercial is bullshit. They take some of the worst mileage of Toyota and put it against the best mileage of Chevy. Here's a real comparison between base models of Chevy and Toyota.
Toyota Camry Base: 22/33 MPG
Chevy Malibu LS: 22/30 MPG
Toyota Corolla Base: 26/35 MPG
Chevy Cobalt 1VL 25/37 MPG
Toyota Tundra Regular Cab: 15/19MPG
Chevy Silverado 1500 WT: 14/18MPG
Rav4 Base: 22/28 MPG
Equinox LS 1LS: 22/32 MPG
