Unfortunately, his song was stolen by a Brazilian friend in 1944 and was never seen again. Yokuul never recovered from that ordeal and died shortly thereafter. The relatives of Yokuul have been trying to retrieve the rights to his song since. Now it appears that the grandson of that Brazilian friend has made this song famous.

@edyssilva Back when the show "Saturday Night Live" was rather new, one of the skits they featured (Two Wild & Crazy Guys) with comdieans, Dan Akroyd and Steve Martin, acting like "nerdy" playboys/cheesy lounge singers. They often would mimic singing "Feelings" After a while, the song unfortunately (for many)became a joke here in the U.S.  because of this famous skit.
