I just flew american from central america to miami and there was a vibration on the floor and a clicking noise of some sort coming from the engine. Also the plane a couple times made like a jittery movement when I heard this noise. I also had an american airline employee tell me they will not fly on these planes. I am now one of those, and after the flight I was told they would put in a work order. Nice!I hear there are a lot of mechanical problems with these planes. They lost another customer!
the runways have nothing to do with the accident, several other larger aircrafts landed there that night ok...its simply pilot error...but lets not focus on that ..instead focus on the positive..none died...it would have been devastated for Jamaica and Jamaicans ..with love ones coming home for the holidays..Jamaica have never experience anything like that...
america is just really unlucky when it comes to flying....to many crashes this year alone, remembe the one in buffalo that landed on a house and killed everyone on board and in the house. the hudson landing
It's a conspiracy to scare Americans into not leaving the country. The plane was purposely cut in half and welded together again by the hidden government so it would split on impact. The pilots were sleeper cells made to lose control at a certain time when they reached Jamaica. Couple this with this winter storm heading through the midwest so it will be hard to travel. They have planned this for winter so martial law can begin soon.
Only a moron would argue that a captain with 2750 hours and a first officer with 5000 are rookies. All major airlines in the world have, at one time or another, had crashes. Air Jamaica has not had a crash, so the spurious conclusion is that it is the superiority of their pilots.....quite ridiculous. One should await the investigation before suggesting that it was pilot error, Could it not have been less than complete weather reporting involving rain intensity, wind velocity etc.?
No these are just rookie american airline pilots i have been in planes that have had to land in heavy rain, poor visibility and strong winds a few times, all got t sy is AIR JAMAICA ALL THE WAY regardless of the delay problems. Alot of ppl include us jamaicans are willin to sacrifice our lives for getting where we are going on time. Im glad every one is ok though to god be the glory great things he has and will continue to do
well they have no other choice but to land in bad weather! lol the aircraft was designed in a way to resist mother nature such as lightning, storm, winter, etc. the problem is that the pilots has to know how to operate these machines. they were trained to do it. but obviously they missed the touch down part of the run way probably because they couldnt see because of the rain. however they crashed landed the right way and that why they have all passengers survived. it could have blown up
its Jamaica, planes land in this weather all the time, some times, the terminal doesn't even have any electricity ( has happened to me ) . that rainstorm wasent bad, and airliners are designed to withstand these landings. It is the design of the runway, i have been here many times and landing on this runway is very hard ...there is only a couple feet of sand and dirt separating water and runway, no space for screw ups. The landing only gets harder with the pressure of the weather.
why don't you compare the length on the runway to others before you make assumption on the runway...if this runway is so bad as you make it why this is the first such accident happened..737 is much smaller than the airbuses Air J amaica used and this has never happened..stop be-little our infrustructure..i guess you havent gone to the airports in awhile
I go twice every year to this airport, and Air Jamaica is not the only plane that fly to Kingston, in fact this specific rout is flown often. Not sure if daily but very often, with the same model by the same airline, AA. Lie i stated previously, it is the combination of bad weather , pressure and position the aircraft was on the runway before it touched down on the runway, not runway length. This airport is an International airport and the runway is long enough for 747 s ( Air jams old fleet )
