Back then it was a pseudo-low percent lock you could catch people off guard with. It's not something you'll be pulling off on players that know what they're doing.

So yeah, I was aiming to back throw -> banana glide toss -> repeat. But these days that kinda stuff won't fly.

Not really, you should just do what's comfortable.

Though, using the C-stick should let you do things

faster and easier. Like Pivot dribbling.

Naw man there is plenty of tech in brawl except its more specific towards each character rather than a broad spectrum. I.E. diddy's banana chain, pit's wingdash,etc (i havent touched brawl in a year, i sold my wii for a reason). But i still prefer melee over brawl. I would rather have that option to L-cancel or not in invoke mind games. Wavedash or gimp someone with a 0% KO. Overall the metagame of melee is so much faster than that of brawl.

It's not wavedashing. What I'm doing in this vid is glide tossing. It's like, throwing an item while you dodge roll, which creates that slide effect.

I know what you mean man, but you have to remember that a combo video is meant to entertain, it doesn't really reflect how good I am, or the people I'm playing are. I assure you, some of those players are far better than me. This video is 10 minutes of many, many, many hours of recorded footage where I've been able to find some rare moments of ownage against these guys.

Same goes for other combo videos that have world famous players getting owned in them :P

There's no 'cancelling' really involved, just a lot of glide tossing and quick fingers.

Not really because their Dair attacks work differently.

After a footstool you'll want to recover with Diddy Kong. His Dair isn't disjointed and doesn't have the follow range that Marth has.

Though, if I'm wrong, I'd like to know.

Of course Diddy has nowhere near the reach of Marth's sword, but another question which is better for KOing someone with Diddy, his fair or bair?

Usually the Fair since it has better range and power. Kept fresh, it can KO pretty well off stage.

Bair is good for tricky gimps and what not.

Nice use of bananas XD but to my question, what is the timing for his aerial smashs, especially his down A meteor smash

I don't think it's something as easy as telling you how to time his aerial attacks. As with any kind of of follow up, you need to do it as early as possible. This is important in Brawl since there isn't a lot of hitstun to allow for combos.

The thing to be mindful about with Diddy Kong's Down Aerial attack (Dair) is that his whole body is the hitbox for it, so you just need to be overlapping their character model/hurtbox.

Also, the window of frames on the Dair is pretty small, meaning you've realy got to learn the timing yourself by practicing.

I guess that answers my question, but for the Dair, like for Marth the best effect of the dair is the tip of the sword, so if you do a footstool jump and then Dair its a meteor, but does that apply here as well with diddy?

I am having trouble finding the part where diddy grabs snake out of his up B on Frigate and when he falls a platform comes in and the snake lays a mine on it, blows up on himself, and then the platform pulls him away to his death.
