if Russians will make a film about their spies in US, americans will sure be pissin their pants..cause russians does better when in comes to gathering info..^^ this movie shows how dumb CIAs and FBIs are, they had a mole in their group for 2 decades.. lmao!
I was just at a pc/network security conference in Atlanta and the FBI agent, Eric O'Neill (played by Ryan Phillippe), who helped to take Hanssen down spoke at the conference. He went into a lot of detail regarding the specifics of how they nailed him. I haven't seen "Breach" but I'm sure it was all covered in the movie. Very interesting guy this O'Neill.
The time has come for Free energy to be revealed ,But some very powerfull ppl don't want you and me to be free from energy costs,Get a REAL working magnet motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Big change is comming soon!
Damn good movie. Very well written. Sticks very closely to the true story and doesn't insult our intelligence. Chris Cooper is chilling as Robert Hannsen, a creepy pervert and near-genius FBI agent who spied for the Russians.
The guy was a fat, weak, egotistical little asshole who got innocent people killed for money and YES there are secrets other countries can use against us
Selling secrets? Like what, nuclear technology? So what? The Soviets already had their own nuclear research programs. People think they've got secrets; nations think they got secrets. Nobody knows anything that can't be figured out by other means. Otherwise it doesn't fucking matter. Free nations have no business keeping secrets anyway. In the end, all the cloak and dagger BS it's a pointless waste of resources.
he was a clever man in a job where he had no respect, money or windows, it's asking for treason...
he reminds me of another interesting case, Kim Philby's , the guy was a triple agent,
worked the CIA,MI6 and played as he was a double on the soviets on the allied side of germany when he as in fact a sleeper agent of the soviets since teenager, and got into the mi6 very early when they were just the internation bureau, his damage is unparalel, inteligencce plays more than guns
i love this movie. i thought boring from the title but then i get excited every scene. i was afraid eric will be caught by hanssen when he was downloading info from the palm pilot.
its hard that youll be accomplice to the downfall of the man and its also sad because hansen trusted him and they already developed a bond.

@OrthodoxSerbia lol, what makes you think that, who knows russia and china have spies in FBI,CIA or visa-versa, i am sure there are some but not as much as it was in the cold war days
Well, it´s just that we expect more from "the world´s biggest democracy" than we ever did from communist Russia... It´s not very impressive to talk about human rights and demand protection of them from other nations when you´re violating them yourself.
the point of the movie dumbass, is to tell you the STOPRY of how he was able to pull it off. not that he's JUST a traitor its the fact that he was able to get away with so much.
This movie was terrific. My parents work for the Government and loved it. They said its the most realistic FBI film they've ever seen. It was a bit slow, but it was a terrific story. And enough with America sucks, Russia sucks. Sure Russia was bad then, and MAY still be, but i'm not gonna say anything rude. and quite frankly, i love america (:
The acting in this movie is incredible. On the DVD Special Features the real Eric O'Neill said that Chris Cooper gave him the chills cause he could portray Hanssen so well
Yeah, every time an American film portrays a foreigner as an enemy--and the Soviets were most certainly our enemies during the Cuban Missile Crisis, for instance?--we're "bigoted". When foreign movies portray us as stupid, drunk, etc, it's "progressive".
fine. take out everything in your room. ill even give you a bed. and sit there all day for a week. only giving yourself time to talk to people for an hour. and tell me death is the worst possible thing.
yea you retard nobody gives a fuck about the russians and what they do, this is about an american traitor who by the way was the best russian spy in history and also cost 1000s of american lives....that should tell you something
ok for one the that wouldn't be racist, two the russians actually DID commit very bad crimes, so dont bitch about americans. the fact that the spy was AMERICAN is enough. it just happened to be that the RUSSAINS were the ones he was talking too.
At that time, it was the USSR, not Russia per se. Yes, the US has done, does and will do bad stuff from time to time, but to equate our evils to those of the former Soviet Union shows what must be a mountain of ignorance. Ever heard of the Stalinist purges? Of Gulags? Of the Ukrainian holocaust? Do some homework in history and math, Spartan.
yes well it really doesnt matter what the russains call their contry, the fact of the matter is that they are still what they used to be, there are over 720,000 KGB officers in russia, almost 220,000 of them border guards. and they are still very much a threat as they were before the fall of the soveit union. The power Russia holds is a great one, and one day we will see how much they really do have.
ok whatever, point being, russia still has good amounts of power even without the KGB, so what if they spilt, they're still there just as 2 different named groups
Im not kidding, the real robert hanssen used to be my neighbor

I think he brought more good than bad to the CIA.
