I have a question for you; what do you need to start using a talk box? I run a guitar through an effects pedal into my guitar amp, where does it fit in terms of cables? Does my amp need two inputs or can it be plugged somewhere in my "chain" that goes: amp - cable - pedal 1 - pedal 2 - guitar? Sorry if I'm not explaining this well, this is the only reason I haven't gotten one yet. I don't want to have to buy a separate amp or a PA for home or something like that.

@closertotheheart The talkbox actually fits after your amp. It's really just a speaker in a box with a tube coming out, So you connect the output of the amp to a talbox instead of the speaker cab.

However, an easier way is to use the rocktron banshee, with creates a similar sound, but fits in your regular pedal chain.

@closertotheheart That's the case with every talkbox, not just the banshee. They all work the same way, the banshee just has its own preamp so you don't need to connect it after your regular amp. In any case, no sound from the talkbox will come out of the speaker cab, it will all come through your mouth (via the tube) so you'll need a vocal mic in front of your face to pick up the sound (for live use, at home you'll hear it the same way you hear yourself talk).

@TheBran1262 Hey thanks! It's just a natural finish, but the guitar is made of mahogany, which has a really cool texture. My 12-string is made exactly the same, but it doesn't look as cool, as it's stained a dark green color...you can't see the wood grain as well.

Hey i just got my Rocktron Banshee talkbox and im having some trouble getting clean tones out of it that are clear for guitar. If i turn the gain all the way down its sorta clean but its extremely quiet even if i turn the volume up all the way on it, and using a microphone. The gain knob is extremely sensitive. The tone is clean but it sounds like it sorta has a very light distortion/fuzz. Also when I have full volume on the microphone the talkbox volume is not as loud compared to the mic.

@facu2394 as far as i know, it comes out of the mouth, so you need a mic and a mic amp to work with the talkbox. It's not the most practical of pedals, to be honest, and that's why I still haven't got meself one of them.

@frozenroby Hey! The talkbox I'm using in this video is basically the guts of a vintage Electro-Harmonix Golden Throat - that is, it's the driver (Electro-Voice 1823m) and the Golden Throat tube connector.

Do I recommend the Rocktron Banshee 2? Absolutely. Best talkbox on the market. Custom-built ones like I normally use are better, but the Rocktron has it all in one box.
