you can hack just by talking to people, hacking is not just a technological feet. it is using your own personal abilities in whatever form they may take and using them for the benefit of mankind. hackers are not greedy, but those that despise them make them appear to be so, "look over there" runs away........................

i agree, but not all hackers have being to uni and there are some criminal hackers that will use what they know to steal.

Hacking to make the world a better place is what most hackers do. Why steal code when you can fight those company's such as Microsoft by programming and using GPL licenced software.

hacking is a process in wich the hacker studies somthing figures out how it works and then uses that information to achieve a specific purpose. hacking isnt even limeted to computers. one example is social enganering where people studie people to see how they react to certain things or events and then use that to get them to do what they want politions do it all the time. there hacking and they dont even know it.

You are compleatly right (well sort of) but i think whoever explaned this to you is a bit dolusional but i've been trying to tell people this for ages - But people who deface websites are just script kiddies, I do have some understanding for people who break into boxes though... because if they are a moraly grounded person they will look around then ix the vulnerability.
