  • soooo is she 550 to the crank??? whats she at the wheels?? i jw man

  • @bbsombs

It was not dyno'd out of the car, but made 475 rwhp @ 7200 rpm & 434 rwtq on a Mustang Dyno (eddy current brake style with resistance to duplicate the street) so I'd say and easy 530-550 crank HP. Not bad for a lit'l ol 302!

  • @bbsombs

She also ran 10.85 @ 128 off the trailer on 3 passes on the initial outing. Keep in mind that's at our altitude of 4200 FT!! That was also BEFORE we did the rear suspension so 60 ft's were 1.65's spinning the 28 inch et streets through 2nd gear. Once we did the adjustable rear suspension and antiroll it left with 1.38 60 ft's and ran 10.30's @ 132 at our altitude.

  • @bbsombs

475 to the rear tires via our in house Mustang Dynometer which usually reads a bit lower than a dyno jet. The dynojets are inertia dyno's and ours is a resistance dyno. BIG difference as the resistance drops numbers but is more accurate for tuning as it simulates load like driving the car.

it also made 435 tq to the tires. That a safe estimate of 530-550 HP crank.

  • @THRstang what size and type of carb u using??

got a part number for that also?? thanks

  • finally someone on youtube who can grab a gear properly, impressive. what kinda numbers does it run?

  • @ZRT600Rider

Many thanks, it'll grab em at any RPM thanks to the Faceplated TKO from LIberty's Gears! Just rock the loud pedal and kick n stick!

It ran 10.85 @ 128 off the trailer in street trim on it's first pass (pre-rear suspension) at our elevation (4200 ft). Once we finished the rear upper/lower/bushings/ and anti-roll it ran a 10.31 @ 132. It now resides in NJ at sea level running 9.80's @ 137! Not bad for an all motor 302 based engine!

  • @THRstang 10.31 is fast, 9.80's is really fast. how did that face plated trans work on the street? i hear they can be a pain to downshift. ive ran a pro shifted doug nash on the street and it was a little tricky, but when it came time to race it was worth it haha. with 550hp, running 9.80's....it must be a rather light car no?

  • @THRstang very impressive. my motor is very similar, its the 4340 probe kit, 11:1, ported tfs highports (300/230cfm) comp street roller, .608/236*, ported vic jr with an 850 demon. the motor made 422 in an 84 mustang, on the mustang dyno with resistance through an aod and a 9 inch. my 86lx has a stock t-5 and 8.8 for now, and im looking to change that. i was thinking doug nash, but liberty does nice stuff too. how does the face plated trans drive on the street? is it easy to downshift? thanks!!!

  • @ZRT600Rider

It's a work of art. Perfect for a wicked RPM, Hi HP streetable stang. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting the sport of the stick but needing the reliability of an automatic. If you miss a gear with this thing, you need to be driving a hot wheels, not a race car! As for downshifting, just blip the throttle to match the RPM's and it's the same as a regular stick. (You don't need to match RPM's to shift it, it just lessens the noise). Let us know if you need a price on one.
