  • The book reminds me of my mother so much, the movie was really good.

  • this movie is soooo haunting. can't go wrong with pfeiffer!

  • Read the book, I cried. Astrid is so strong and clever and beautiful; we need more adaptable girls like her in the world. Only love for White Oleander :)

  • The best movie!

  • :(

  • snobs

  • The movie is amazing but the book, which I'm reading now, is even better. The book is INSANE. It's incredible, like a modern-day Lolita.

  • robin wright penn was so good in this movie

  • Love this movie tbf!

  • awful trailer btw

  • A masterpiece. They don't make movies like this anymore! Nowadays it's all gotta be "IN 3D" or else no one will watch it! I don't like where film-making is headed. I don't like it one bit...

  • The OST makes the the tone for the whole movie, the best of the best tracks of TM and I Iove Sheryl's track as well. MP is as perfect as she always is)

  • Did they cut out the awesome black Escort from the movie? Because it seems like something hollywood would do. when astrid was with her it was the best part of the book.

  • Gosh, even the trailer makes me cry. :']

  • I liked the book, but even the writer says that she made Astrid to be a weak character to contrast the mother. The movie made her a little bit more strong, not much more, but better. The mother seems to know herself, while Astrid is finding herself. I think even though I respect how strong the mother seems, Astrid is a bit more relatable, and a bit more human.

  • @RighthandAnne :/ i feel like i relate to the mother more at times and that scares me, haha

  • Love the book.

  • i love the book a bit more but i apsolutely love the movie. the story is shell shocking.

  • If anyone has seen the 'I Love Cats' eHarmony video, I swear the actress in this who plays the woman who committed suicide is her! :3

  • Defintiely better as a book. But overall, not bad.

  • shawshank

  • Definitely one of my favorite movies. Amazing all around.

  • how can anyone not love this movie. its so dark and edgy and gets under your skin. michelle is so gorgeous

  • What is the song in this trailer?

  • @lollipop7761 safe and sound by Sheryl Crow. Hope that helped, unless you already found it. :D

  • @pinkangelfire137 lol thanks! I DID find it though, because I wanted to hear it so badly!(:

  • Allison was in that movie "Sharing the secret " and she did a great job there too

  • I watched half the movie on tv one time but didn't get too finish it...does anyone know when it will be on again?

  • @lexieOmead14 If you live in the UK then it's on tonight on ... BBC 1 i think.

  • @1992VoodooChild ..just watched it off BBC..great thought provoking film :)

  • best movie ever

  • Michelle pfieffer is perfect as Ingrid!! I have yet to see this movie, but I can already say that astrid is all wrong

  • @edwardlover88 ...ALISON LOMAN WAS PERFECT AS ASTRID!!

  • They should cast Lohman for much more movies.

  • The movie is nothing compared to the book.

  • i hope this movie is good cuz the book was freaky

  • @rin0015 I haven't read the book but the movie is incredible. It's one of my favorite movies.

  • Michelle Pfeiffer esta ma hermosa que nunca en esta pelicula...

  • lokks like a good movie..got to be worth seeing with jennifer aniston in the lead role

  • @Maverick747uk ...jennifer aniston is not in the move, AT ALL! THANK GOD!

  • @Maverick747uk Jennifer Aniston doesn't play in this movie..

  • @VrvraKk700 i know she doesnt she just acts..if she played it would be a porn movie doh

  • Michelle was perfection in this.

  • I watched this movie last night, it was wonderful. I really really enjoyed it. I love movies like this, good storyline, terrific actors, and a warm ending.

  • hey!it's the same girl who plays in in Big Fish

  • so many blondes

  • @Ingretto

in the book the main character was supposed to be albino.

  • como se llama la cancion que sale en el trailer?owo

  • @nicolhermosa se llama "safe and sound" by Sheryl Crow

  • None of her foster moms liked her, not even Renee Zellweger, they looked at her like compettition. What do you want, the girl was hot, and needed attention.

  • SUCH a amazing book

  • Alison lohman is really good and this movie is awesome. I loved it.

  • FAVORUITE MOVIE

    FAVOURITE BOOK

    THE BEST ♥♥♥

  • I loved the book and the movie is just amazing..... one of my all time favorites....

  • i started reading the book and found it AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG.♥ then i watched the movie. i love bothhh:)

  • Ingrid was an awful, selfish, horrid bitch. Pfeiffer did an excellent job of making her half human.

  • I'm so glad I got to watch the movie randomly a few years ago, so that I got interested in reading the novel, first in German, than later on in the original version. It's absolutely one of my favourites. You really shouldn't miss reading it!

  • Gosh, I just picked up this book a few days ago randomly out of my high school library... and I have to say, it's one of the most poetic, deep, dark, and sinisterly seductive books I have ever read ♥ Beautiful, really. I love the characters.

This movie doesn't look too bad, but that background music is WAY too happy for this novel X'D

  • i just read the book thn did research on the author for a report in literature and found out about the movie. i reeeeeely wanna see it now!!

  • Just read the book (finished it yesterday) had no idea there was a film... It looks good, Ingrid and Astrid are cast well, but not Claire, Claire was thin, dark hair. Don't think I'll be watching it through, the book was too good, the film might be a disappointment in comparison. I'm getting into Miles Davis because of it. And seriously considering buy a bottle of vintage Ma Griffe.... <3

  • @freakyMof It's hard for a film to do a book justice, but this movie did a pretty good job. Ingrid was a cold piece of work in the book and they softened her somewhat here. Either way, Michelle Pfeiffer did an EXCELLENT job and should've gotten an Academy Award nomination at the very least!

  • this looks REALLY good!!!!

  • Oh I've seen this movie, it's beautiful !

  • Really strong movie, hits you hard.

  • i saw this movie , and its so great ! very beautifu; movie.

  • a good drama :)

  • This is the soundtrack called 'Brooks Was Here" from Shawshank Redemption (Thomas Newman) who is also the music composer of this film.(: LOVE HIM!

  • @tiffanycardenas Same here! AMAZING composer!!!

  • She was also amazing in Matchstick Men

  • How many times are people going to state the obvious? Books are always better than movies.

  • if youre a teenage white girl that just had her period youll love this movie

    Hope it's good !

  • Oh my god I have been looking for this song for forEVER!! For some reason late last night (early morning) 2:30am I thought of White Oleander and when I did the song came up in my head and yes! • @GabiMontez85 Yes, there is a book. Actually this movie is based on it. It's written so beautifully!

  • best movie ever!

  • I identify myself with the Its one of my favourites movies ever because Its all so signification to me... Its a great history about how could a mother do such bad to her child for liking her so much and be such an egoist to want keep her child only for her...

When the young women - i dont remember her name - find herself without her mother, She felt completly lost, without know who is she. And the film is all about this :find ourselfs:)

  • my boyfriend looks just like him 1:48 or 1:50

  • The book and movie are both amazing

  • PLEASE HELP- WHY IS THIS FILM CALLED WHITE OLEANDER?!

  • @hamsterrody

The mother killed her ex-boyfriend with the poison of white oleanders.

  • @MssJinx91 o thanks (:

  • @hamsterrody its called white orleander cuz orLanders a fuckin flower im a nigga and everyone in the world in raisest

  • @hamsterrody It's a metaphor for Ingrid the mother, she's beautiful but toxic

  • This is such a powerful and amazing movie. The actors are so great! I didn't know what to expect but it was so good! It's one of those movies when it's finished you don't just go on doing something else, you really think about it! I can recommend this movie to everybody :)

  • I just watched this the other night and I loved it. I am definitely going to find the book and read it.

  • @AnastaishaRIOT

the book is so amazing :)

  • Just finished reading the book.

It was so beautifully written. I don't know if that could translate onto film.

I guess one day I'll watch it.

I would have cast Natalie Portman as Claire, though. I just pictured her.
