  • So cute and so much fun! What a great experience, very unique to this con! It's a privilege to attend. <3

  • These maids are so fun and kind!! I didn't expect much from the maid cafe, but they all treated me so kindly, even though I was a girl and not a "master" they still addressed me as "Lady" and came and talked to me in groups and made me feel so special and happy. I just went for the food, but I'll definitely come back again next year because the service was FANTASTIC! These girls even did dances and would make little designs on your plate, truly a different but awesome experience!

  • Loved it!!! :D

  • omg i want to be a maid

  • @imnotrlyadoctor You should do it! They're super nice and the whole environment was incredibly fun :)

  • I absolutely love this! I hope you'll come back to report on Anime USA again next year!

  • @laureninspace Thanks so much for allowing me the opportunity! :D And I might just have to next year, I hear you all are moving to Katsu's old stomping grounds :D

  • @pennyphotography actually, we're moving to the Marriot Wardman in Woodley Park! It'll be more apparent when we put up the 2012 version of the website.

  • I have definatly got to work at a maid cafe

  • How did you get video of all this I tried taking vdeos and got yelled at for it. Did you have to ask for permission for it. Good video though with interesting interviews.

  • @specie8470 Thanks! I'm glad you like it! :) I was specifically at AUSA for the purpose of doing video footage of the Maid Cafe. You might have seen me. I was the guy with that huge mechanical-looking contraption that made me look like some cyborg-transformer. That's my video rig. I was part of the Media Team tied to the event, which is why I was allowed to take video footage. :)

  • @pennyphotography I figured you had to have to do some kind of press badge or something. I was trying to get skilled in doing the same thing but obviously the maids didn't like that from me. Were you doing interviews with cosplayers on the ground floor?

  • @specie8470 Nope, when I wasn't doing the Maid Cafe I was on the ground floor doing Cosplayer video snaps. I'm currently working on that video at the moment. Took a break between this edit and the one I'm working on now.

  • @pennyphotography Look forward to seeing it. I wonder who was doing the interviews then some seemed interesting from what I overheard.

  • @specie8470 Hi there! Next year, why don't you try applying for Anime USA press? It's press@animeusa.org and I'm the press liaison. We've had issues at the maid cafe with stalkers in the past, so security there has strict orders to only let people with press badges take video. See you next year!

  • @laureninspace Thanks for the reply. It was my first time at Anime USA or any anime con. I dunno if I would meet the requirements or how much a press badge costs doubt they just give them to anyone that asks. I asked my maid how much pictures were and she said they were free but the program guide says games and pictures are to be paid for in cash so I dunno if I was lied to or what. Dunno if I will come back didn't like getting yelled at etc.

  • @specie8470 You're right – if you're not a member of the press, you have to pay cash for photos and stuff. I was a maid one year and I remember that. You can find out who I give press badges to on our Press Policy page (don't think YouTube will let me link to it) or you can email me at lauren at animeusa dot org to find out more. I do accept student members of the press!

  • @laureninspace I read the press policy says you need previous work and such and I don't really have that. Just have the video I shot at the con which isn't much. I dunno how I can have planned coverage when the schedule isn't up till like 3 days before the con. I wonder why the maid I had lied to me about the pictures being free upsets me that you confirmed it to me. Thanks for the information.

  • @specie8470 definitely send me an email. It doesn't have to be previous Anime USA work. For example, when I began reporting at conventions, I submitted a couple articles on non-anime subjects to the current press liaison. Email me about your specific situation.

  • かわいですねええ!^。^

  • kawaii~~~ <3 ^____^
