  • the sound of a wastegate is better then a blow off valve any day,,,,sounds great,,i am going to sts twin turbo my interceptor,,only 6psi do to the stock rods are powder metal and bend and snap FAST,,they can take "some" boost like a 100 shot of gas all day but at 150 shot they like to bend,,so after my engine dies i will get some forged rods and pistons then run aout 20psi on my stock crank,, i love the torque my 4.6l 2 valve 281cid sohc puts out ,,i need the torque to push the 4000lbs of metal,

  • What header u use? Stock TT or custom for single? If u use stock header, how do u convert from TT to Single?

    Its 100% single?

  • @LeonidK340

It uses the stock TT manifold however it has a custom adapter which bolts over where stock turbos mount the standard manifold that allows you to then bolt on this turbo. It is truly single, albeit a small one!

  • @MrG33kman sounds just like stock due to the stock manifold.

  • Why does the video say "wastegate chatter"? The pigeon sounds are coming from the air backing up at the compressor when the throttle is shut. It's caused by a bov that is too heavy or no bov/recirc valve at all. Is it bad? Some say you can bend the blades on your compressor or wear out your CHRA, but I haven't experienced either.

  • @CrabSpirits

You are correct, it's actually compressor stall however it seems that most search for "wastegate chatter" so seemed the more common term on here, hence the title.

There is no proof that I'm aware of that compressor stall causes premature turbo failure, however surge is another thing all together.

  • so thats wastegate chatter? i have never heard that in person, why does that happen? i have an external wastegate will this happen too? is it a bad thing?

  • 23psi at 3000rpm is very very good response from a single turbo supra.... What size is the rear housing on the turbo? .62? Most of the builds I have seen with GT30R turbos make full boost by about 3200-3300rpm. My GT35R makes it by about 3500rpm and has around 470whp but to be honest unless you have really good tyres it is hard to use all that power below 3rd gear.

  • @madhavsaraswati

GT35R was to be my next turbo until I found out about the PT 6265 billet turbos but the GT35 is definately a good choice.. You've made a good point about the hotside of this turbo though - it is the smaller one that I have, hence the slightly quicker spool but unfortunately restricts the top end. definately become evident when winding up the boost - you also have to watch out for creep and surge with this housing as it's running right on the edge of the compressor map!

  • @MrG33kman That 6265 I'd imagine it wouldn't hit full boost until over 4000rpm, and all that power like I said would be very very difficult to drive without slicks... I like the idea of 450-500whp with full boost and torque as low as possible, like 2500-3000rpm. What about the 5557? Similar to what you have now but flows more hp.

  • Really nice supra :) What speedometer do you have? It looks awsome

  • @zerospych

Standard speedo just with Visual-Performance EL Dials (ebay) ;-)

  • how much does the amuse turbo kit cost? and how much whp at that boost setting?

  • @tommieboi707

Not sure how much the kit costs new - I managed to get this for 2100 GBP inc labour for fitting.

I never got this dyno'd at 0.8bar but it's now running at ~1.5bar. At 1.6 bar these make about 490 flywheel hp so my guess would be 410-420whp @ 1.6 bar. Not massive but it makes 1.6 bar around the 3k rpm mark so lightning response.

  • Cheers avo01d and good luck with yours ;)

  • Love your supra man!
