Summer of '82, Salamanca, Spain, Blanco y Rojo? Negro? disco. Me and Susan Granger. Hey, Susan, you want to hear something cwazy? Today's Buzzy's 60th bday! Remember this song and dancing. I remember you with great affection, wherever you are. Forget me not.
@AndyEberts amen, secondly Will Smith is awesome and a pioneer of hip hop the man can do what he damn pleases. Any hip hop fan knows sampling is all about respect and homage to the people you sample!
I can't believe that there are 14 people who doesn't like this track. I'm glad to see Patrice performing this track many years ago, the crowd got crazy & me too!
I remember this...when women sang from their hearts and didn't scream. When they dressed their best and exuded class. When they made us fall in love with them watching them sing...yeah, I remember this.
What a talented lady!!....and her mentor Quincy Jones.....what a combination......thanks for this post....absolutely love her voice and the saxophone.....was their a 12" for this?it was the era so i guess there was...Anyone remember Angels,Burnley on a Wednesday night....the wicked maestro Richard Searling spinning the funky sounds!...and the entrance fee...a mere penny and im not joking! @Celeste2054 Are you my sister? I have a sister named Celeste....she is the ONLY person I know who would mess with my head like you're doing! LOL!!!!!!!!
@lomejorpapi Seriously?! This one's definitely first. So you would be comfortable if your husband/wife told you they just had to marry you right away because your hair has a beautiful "persona"?
@checkavanz101 LoL...Of course not. Don't take my comment seriously. I just used 'getting married' as a way to say how gorgeous this look was. ...definitely wouldn't marry anyone based purely upon their hairstyle..or else I'd be unhappily married already. #thatisall :-)
Isn't it funny how things work ? I was going to listen to "Remind Me" by her, by I accidentally clicked on this thinking it was something else. My grandfather loved this song and played it drastically (RIP), aside from some Chaka Khan and a few others. It makes me wanna tear up even hear the beats drop on this song and I'm merely 14. God i miss him so much.
@Mercutio1984 Lol... you were probably born i the 90's. This song was recorded and release in 1982. Do it reversed WILL SMITH stole it from PATRICK RUSHEN. Do some research if you are born today.

@brownies4you Thanks for your condolences, however, I'm 55 years old now, so this happened about 10 years ago. She was coming back from a wedding with her husband and they were involved in a horrible car accident, which killed her instantly. It was Labor Day weekend and he called me at 5 am to tell me that she had died. She was my BEST friend since Jr. High School, High School, College and Life. Yeah...we THOUGHT we were all that and a bag of chips! LOL!!!!!
Love this song and time of music making....listen to the "actual" bass line guitar in the song-NICE. I was serving our Country in the US Marine Corps when this song came out.....we would all, black, white, yellow, red, men be jammin with this song in our barracks. Miss this type of music, musicians made, not computer generated.
So true. I think the late 70s and early 80s was an incomparable era for music, especially dance and party music. Some stuff now is ok to dance to, but in no way does this generation compare to back then.
@MrUnc82alum Yessss l always said if l had to choose an era l would have loved to live in would had to be the early but late 70s and early 80s haha almost made it but l was born in 89 July haha.
But yea this generation can't compare to back then at all
Awww, i hate u missed late 70s early 80s:( It was a great time to be in college. We had so much fun, and the constant infusion of great dance and party music made that time so special. You should listen to as much of it as u can.
@MrUnc82alum l bet yall did l think thats why lm sooo drawn to those era of music because my mom played them around the house while carrying me in her belly. I surprise her to this day with some of the music l know and sing. Haha lve been singing since l came out of the womb haha :)
Hey music and movie lovers! Remember this song from the movie BIG w/ Tom Hanks? He and Elizabeth Perkins character were jumping on the trampoline....classic song for a classic movie scene!!

@FunkMasterKRoc Coz producers don't let their session musicians cut loose any more :'(

@TheTuita Producers today are not well trained musicians and it shows. There's no software that can make you great at music. Just practice.

Most folks don't realize how good Patrice was on older albums when playing piano (with Jean Luc Ponty) - see: Jean Luc Ponty - Renaissance - Aurora
