Loved it, really great solo, thanks. I'm an old guy trumpet student. I love the trumpet sound. I'll listen and try to imitate some of your moves. Great playing, a real turn on.
you sound amazing, but sometimes you need to think about what you're playing because i don't think it matched the chord progression of the song. but anyways you sounded great.
hey man , you're realli amazing , i showed this video for my musician teacher and and he shaw to everyone in our class.....everyone liked too much ...
So ... I'll be honest and say I don't hear it ... I don't hear how this follows the chords ... I don't hear how the ideas really follow one another ... I don't ... hear it really resolve to anything
I graduated from Oberlin last May but I'm still living here. I'm playing at the Feve most Sundays. Not this weekend or the next, though, because I'll be on tour with Rafiq Bhatia.
Very Nice...i mean people generally post here to be criticized, but he does a great job. Just remember that you have more than one octave on your trumpet
It amazes me that when you have a trumpet player apparently at your stage of playing and people want to be a critic on how well you perform...I think you're past that...you have your own style and it sounds great...I think you're past that "you need to do this" or "that" stage...you worked it with your style and it sounded great...more videos please. I wonder how many times Dizzy was told not to puff out his cheeks????? LOL.
Do some tone studies and don't try to play as many notes as you can as fast as you can. playing high is nice but if you don't have it then don't play it. You sound like you have some theory background so nice job on that. i hope i helped.
The sound is very thin and not supported. No melodic momentum, more like he was just placing a bunch of random licks and intervals. Over all not bad, but this cat probably could sound better if he wasn;t so scattered brain in his approach!
You d'ont need to play crazy high notes to sound good, he forces way too much instead of doing stuff that feels good. he should definitly add some melody to that. apart from that, it's pretty good
hey man, one way to work on restraint, is practicing without hold the horn...let it rest on your pinky and thumb...everytime u apply pressure it will slide forward...eventually you'll get used to no pressure and have more control of everything...
Eh ya, i would say you need to add some more emotion to it, I'm just not feeling the blues, it sounds more like you're just trying to show off than actually play, but ya it is good playing otherwise
True, it kinda sounded like he was picking random riffs and playing them rather then feeling the tune and following somewhat of a melody. At the beginning of the solo I saw some of the melody, but later on it was gone.
If you guys are interested in hearing the solo in the context of the melody, you can check out the full recording at millertinkerhess dot com slash music dot html.

Ok range, but range isn't what makes music good. Your tone was on the spot, but unfortunatly it was bad more of the time than it was good. Not bad for amature amature hour, but good job considering your not a paid musician, that is an assump tion ofcourse, if your a paid musician then... that would be very bad...
@AreYouMyMommy Then get a trumpet :). I'm not joking. If you'd like to play then the only thing to do is go get one. Pick up a second hand student horn on ebay and a practice mute so you don't kill the family/neighbours and go for it. Trumpet isn't too hard to play (hard to play WELL but not hard to play).
Worst case is you'll get your money back on ebay because trumpets don't really devalue much on their second hand prices.
Go on, you know you want to and at least you can say you tried
Song goes nowhere....hardly any dynamics could be discerned. Your putting me to sleep bro. Has range but not very powerful..I want to hear clarity in ALL ranges.
is that a monette...doesn't look like one from this angle...looks like taylor or harrelson. but i'm all about brilliance...i have a natural dark sound anyway. keep playing
Reminds me of Wynton

if your looking for a b flat trumpet then try to stay away from bach. there good at first but you can get way better tone from many other brands.
