@mattgaff87 Copper by ITSELF will produce a green flame, but I didnt say copper produces a blue flame I said copper compounds that means "copper compounds + chlorine produces copper acetoarsenites (or whats known as Paris Green), Cu3As2O3Cu(C2H3O2)2 = blue and then theres copper (I) chloride or "CuCl" which gives you a turquoise blue.

@i2kvenom I dont know what your doing wrong but I will make a couple of suggestions =^D

1) make sure to use a brand new 9V battery or if the battery isnt working for you, try a lighter.

2) Make sure the steal wool is completely free of any soap and if you use a pad from under your sink and give it time to dry.

3) blow on the any spots that seem to ignite or brighten up and sometimes you have to tear up the ends so there not as smooth to get the steel wool to ignite.

And as I found out at the partner meet up in LA, the only way to get that is suck up to some1 whose already at the top of youtube.

As long as you & everyone does the expirment the same way I did this, no one should get hurt. Your gloves may get burnt but better your gloves then your hands. I burnt my self, but on the sparklers. Isnt that funny, the big spark flinging fire work didnt burn me one bit but a tiny childrens sparkler did! LOL

Thats if youtubes vote botz dont get me first. I have to dodge around youtubes way of stopping certain channels from rising. They have frozen several of my videos in the past. How-ever I think with enough people supporting the Science Files I think I can break through the cement wall that stops most channels form rising & then maybe if the right executive sees it, I can give millions of people a laugh.

Yeah I would be Bill Nye, if Bill Nye took e-mailed questions via his laptop & then showed kool expirments that you can do right in your own home to answer

e-mailed questions, followed by a super kool explanation using a virtual science book complete with turning pages. But he dont do that do he? Nope.

Although I will say bill nye is pretty niffty.

Im glad you enjoied it. Im going to give a little behind the scenes info under your comment. While filming the sparkler scene, I lit 2 sparklers at the same time, & they wouldnt light, so I brought the lighter closer to the sparklers & they erupted in flame & burnt my thumb. Even though I burnt my thumb I continued the scene & then after the scene was shot, I took care of my thumb. I bet Lisa Nova, SxePhil dont care enough about thier fellow users to continue a scene even when they were burned

A new battery is best, it will create a much better current to light the steel wool. If the steel wool pad will not light using the battery, or you cant find a new battery, a regular lighter will also light the steel wool. I used a battery in the video just to be a little fancy. I hope you have fun when you try it!

Kool! If your going to use the brillow pads, the ones used for cleaning pans, make sure that the soap is completely removed. The best thing to do is to get some steel wool that doesnt have any soap. I used the brillow pads in the video, because they are the most likely to be in eveyones home. I rinced the pad till it was completely deviod of soap & then let it sit to dry during the day. By the time night came it was plenty dry & ready to spark.

I can assure you the firework in this vidoe was blue. How-ever some times when the videos are uploaded, the tints dont always look the way they do when they come out of the editing suit. Its something your ganna have to take up with youtube, they are the ones who convert the video format into an internet signal you watch.
