It makes as much sense as most of the monsters in this game (monsters with seven eyes, evil mushrooms, blobs of metallic goo casting fire spells... Toriyama has one overactive imagination... Angelo may not be at fault, but he is part of the reason, as well as their father. Then his mother dies while they were both out on the street. Naturally, Marcello was traumatized from childhood up. Try having this kind of thing happen to you. See how well you take it.

Well, my father wasn't actually a "nice" guy either (very much a drunk and an asshole to my mother, to say the least). It's too bad some people have gone through the things I have. I hate that.

I guess one reason I like Marcello is because I can relate to him. When your father's a hell-born prick, life at childhood can suck.

Ahh... understandable. To be fair, I like Master Dominico's accent, but hate the guy's character in general. I can like Marcello's values, but hate the cold person he has become.

@CapnE625 I rather like the character he morphed into. While cold, he's also become strong within and without (he's the only one who was actually able to resist Rhapthorne's power. Gotta give him credit for that.) I think Marcello's persona is a safety mechanism. He's suffering, so he's learned to deal with it in a cold manner. It's shaped him into, well, a warrior actually. His anger can be his weakness, though.

@CapnE625 It's especially infuriating when you contrast him with Jessica's mom. They have a heated argument, then if you revisit her later in the game, she admits she regrets being so hard on her daughter. With Marcello, you just get "You still on that journey of yours? Eh, whatever. Off you go, then."

Angelo and Marcello's dad was a womanizer; their father impregnated the maid, and then threw her out while she was pregnant with Marcello. Angelo, is the child of their father and his wife, that is why Marcello hates him.
