  • Holy Smoke!! Three blue meanies came on this page and watched this wonderful scene...

  • jajaja the blue meanies remind me of the communists......SO MUCH......especiallly el jefe blue meanie but also the others

  • 7:13 Those meanies look wicked! WE should have seen more of THOSE things in the movie.

  • THE BLUE MEANIES ARE COMING, THE MEANIES ARE COMING!

  • wow! the head meanie is SCARY! but DAYYMM his boots make the cooiest sound!!

  • Look it up on IMDB. :P

The Beatles' voices were only in the songs, the rest of the movie had voice actors.

  • qwertykatie101, you have NO idea what you're talking about. the beatles literally had zero to do with this movie other than their music. not even kidding, the only involvment they had in the making of the film was random phone calls from the director asking for ideas of things to put in the film. they did not provide the voices but did star in a 5 ish min cameo at the end of the movie. this was ONLY done to secure that the movie was to be part of their film contract, that they wanted terminated.

  • The Blue Meanies attack was very Organized and Efficient! Glove played with the captain too much to ez for glove! I love glove laugh! BLUE MEANIES RULE!

  • @Evlkirk13112 Yeah, the Meanies are pretty awesome really.

  • THE COLORS!!! THE COLORS!!

  • Once upon a time or maybe twice there was a hope of peace and brotherhood on earth ...hum no good

let's start again once upon a time or maybe twice there was a planet in universe called earth

that earthly paradise was destroyed by greedy beings called mens

  • The only apperance by the Beatles in this movie is at the very end. The voices of the band were done by other actors.. well known Beatle trivia

  • BLUE MEANIES!!!

I love this film, and especially that glove. The entire film is a work of imaginative genius.

  • I loved this movie ! Had it on VHS, I'd like to find it on DVD. They showed it around Easter & Christmas - time for some reason.

    " Our forefathers - 1 quartet. ". " Our foremothers - Another quartet ".Wonderfully crazy !

  • The glove used to scare the bejesus out of me - great movie and some great one-liners.

I it both on VHS & DVD format :)

  • great mowie :) my favorite song of Beatles

  • Just love this movie!

  • Dido

  • is this an entire movie?

    has anyone seen it?

  • Me.

  • i love the narrorator

  • ahhhh the blue meanies!!!!!!!

  • I like glove. :D

  • The Voice of Paul was the Brit actor that is on "keeping up appearances", yea?

  • no. they actually use the real beatles for their voices

  • No they didn't...

  • @qwertykatie101 actors were used from Liverpool to play the beatles. Paul Angelis played Ringo, John Clive played John Lennon, Geoff Hughes played Paul and Peter Batten (not an actor, but form Liverpool) played George

  • awesome! timeless classic

  • I want to see this movie!! For animated villains, I think the Blue Meanies and the Glove are actually pretty sinister.

  • Pepper Land? Lol...

  • The most underrated music in the film... George Martin, fifth Beatle

  • its like how can u say they werent high? its like so cool but trippy its awesome

  • The Beatles didnt have much to do with the movie. They werent high when they made it b/c they didnt make it. They didnt even do the voices.

  • This was made in the 60's, they were young. And all still alive. Now 2 have passed, and they werent so much baked as they were trippin =]

  • ya. they did their own voices.

  • No they didn't...

  • 'once upon a time, or maybe twice'

    :)

  • "80,000 leagues beneath the sea, it lay or lied, i'm not too sure"

  • yeah we had to watch it in school. it was funny cuz we were like 11. but i now know they were like on acid or something. and this movie is really funny if you watch it while high.

  • the beatles were def very high of somthing

  • I wasn't stoned when I saw a full size replica of the Yellow Submarine in the main car park @ Liverpool John Lennon Airport last month!, it's true I tell you, ask my fellow Liverpudlians!

  • haha, we watched this in school and they told us that the beattle's werent high

  • The Beatles weren't, the creators were fucking baked

  • I love this movie ^^ one of my favorites :)

  • o no fuckin shit you dumb fuck

  • ok.. they were on somethin when animatin this thing.

  • This is a coded warning from the Beatles regarding the NWO

  • Great movie. Thanks for the post.

  • Not polite to point! LOL!!

  • No, the Beatles wearn't on drugs!!! This movie is about something bigger... like love. It seems

all the older and better music artists like the

Beatles, or U2.The meanies represent the things in life that hate. Peanople are different, but all share something in common: we are people! So be kind to one another and

love life because it is too short.

  • as a matter of fact the beatles were on drugs...alot. but it's one of the things that helped them realize the importance of love. why do you think they use vibrant colours and trippy sequences that seem to make no sense. maybe we should all take some drugs.

  • lol sorry they did drugs and smoke but let me tell u this its not rght but who dosent its not wut they did its there music tht matters(i love not only for ther music but therselvs) its lik amy winehouse she has good music ppl are just making fun of her cuase she they new drug addcit to poke at

  • the creativity is surreal that time...even now!

  • man, seems like the beatles were trippin on LSD at that time

  • The meanies are the most random villans in the world of '60s movies

  • its great

  • i have this movie XD. god, i used to love it when i was little, now it looks so... weird oO

  • It's imaginative but it's as far from rock as the Beatles could get. We're not looking at the Beatles. We're looking at something someone else dreamed up, drew, scripted, animated, and which is geared to juvenile undeveloped minds. The Utopia (Pepperland) is something the Beatles would have mocked and crapped all over back in 1964. I guess I need stronger drugs.

  • Up yours, fatty!

This is great fun! The Beatles approved of this movie plenty, and I find it quite pleasant!

    Yay 4 a knew direction! ^^

  • I love this movie.

  • The messianic character of the opening is like that of the Evangile: Somthing new and powerful in love should be able to save a lost paradise, by some inabled heroes.

  • dude i love this movie. i knew it was perfect the first time i saw it; i get high with different girls now and then and i always put this movie on. they always go fucking crazy

  • I can't even make my soap float either.

  • Wow, I watched this a lot when I was little, and didn't realize how strange it was then. Hell, a lot of the stuff I watched when I was little seems messed up when I look back on it :P

  • Richard Willams; The Animators Surival Kit-

"While The Yellow Submarine had an enthusiastic clut following from the advertising agencies and university crowd, the general public avoided the film. It killed the non-Disney feature market for years.

  • We worked on YS 'kitty corner' to Dick's studio, he did titles for 'Charge of the Light Brigade' among other items. The above statement sounds peevish in retrospect. Dick changed many earlier comments at different times. Quite the obverse applied: in the west there hardly was a feature market except for Disney. YS broke with the earlier fixated Disney style via avant garde european graphics. It opened the way for broader exploration of the medium-- which influence continues still.

  • Animator Tom Halley and I, animated most of this opening seq.; including animation in every scene of the film. Am writing a book about my 40+ years animating classics such as: Yellow Sub., Heavy Metal: ; Smurfs, Hello Kitty, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Beetlejuice etc. YS urban drugs myth: Fact: nobody on YS used drugs - except Aspirin and Tums ! Thanks for the many kind comments on our hard work. - Yellow Sub. animator, Norm Drew,

39th Anniversary of YS original release (July 17, 1968).

  • at 7:00 of this clip is Blue Meanie Cel(with gun) I bought at a London Auction - love it!!!

  • my video didn't have that part, because it is so old. :( my video started from the part the blue meanies attacked the violin people. (mine is the original version with the different ending, is that why?)

  • make that when the glove chases the captin. (sry i cant stand saying something wrong):p

  • The Dread Flying Glove freaked me out too. (It still does.)

  • I love this movie ♥ But I first saw it when I was about 7.(And Loved it, B.T.W.) But The

Dreadful Flying Glove freaked me out x3 But I calmed down when All Together Now came on (Because I used that as a skipping rope song when I was little) ...Yes, I was a very odd child xD

  • me and my wee sister watched this on the telly when we were kids - she was tormented for years by nightmares of the blue meanie! seriously : don't show this kalidescopic drug fueled adventure to under 5's, not only will they not appreciate it but they may react badly to the exposure! ;-)

  • lol, I'll keep that in mind. I saw it when I was young and I thought the meanies were awesome!

  • How times change! Nowadays the biggest fans of YS are toddlers who regard it as the musical fairy tale it is. By today's standards, the 'villains' are harmless and laughable. Check with any of us who made the movie please before extending the 'drug-fueled' urban myth.

  • Wow. Might just have to get the DVD now, thanks a lot... :P

  • you like it, make sure you watch the alternate ending on youtube, it's a bit better. The DVD only shows the deleted ending.

  • I enjoy watching the idiot, or nowhere man...aka Jeremy. LOL

  • I JUST LOVE THE BEATLES

  • Lots of movies from the 80s make me feel like I'm on drugs - and that my brain is slipping out of my head.

  • I've never seen this movie before. Can you upload the rest in youtube, please?

  • Sorry, the whole thing was on here for a while. I cant do it though. Go rent it from the movie store.

  • hey is there any chance that you can put the other parts on here scene by scene?

  • this movie is the reason why I got into the Beatles and why I chose my youtube account name ^^

  • Me and my best friend LOVE this. I'm Max, she's the Blue Meanie, and we found a blue glove whilst we were out for a walk the other day and went insane, we were taking pictures of it and quoting all of the GLOVE scenes from this, mwahahahaha.

  • haha! Max and the chief really were a funny pair. It's to bad they cant make a sequel to this... even though it would suck probably.

  • o.k. im going to try loading this whole film uncut onto youtube i dont know if it will work out .

  • Don't expect to have it stay up for long.

  • that glove scares the chit out of me.

  • Did have a scary laugh. xD

  • This looks incredibly weird...but very satisfying. I should like to see it.

  • Go an rent it! NOW!

  • oh wow I go blue with blueness for the blue meanies ^^ Max,the Chief blue Meanie and the Dreadful flying glove are my favorites ^^
