@tsns1 LOL it was real because Bob made it real my friend. Google it you will see. Bob had the hardest job of all, he had to breath life into a character that had no means of showing emotion (face). Bob and his B9 robot skin stole the show in many respects. He was so good in fact, he made you think the robot was real...lol R.I.P Bob, you were a huge part of many wonderfull childhood dreams..
Thank you all so much for your love for my Daddy and The Robot! The support for our family has meant a great deal! He loved the Robot and was very proud of it! He truly did love and enjoy all the fun at the conventions! He and my Mom always had a blast with all of you! Fans, friends and friends that became part of our family! We love him and miss him more than we could ever express, he truly was amazing, I am a blessed woman for being able to be his little girl! I miss you Daddy! I love you!!!
@bobmayslilgirl Your Dad was loved by millions. When I watched the show as a kid I never knew there was a man inside. I thought it was a highly sophisticated prop. I certainly never your Dad's name. He never got a screen credit for it, either. I still watch LIS on DVD now and then.
God Bless You and Your Family!! I grew up with LIS and Your Dad as The Robot. I was crushed on hearing of his passing! I want you to know, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care, Again, God Bless You!! Mike
I was lucky enough to have dinner at a charity event with Bob and his family. Bob was a crack-up! Always joking, always smiling, always proud of his work as The Robot on Lost In Space. Sadly, the power pack has been removed from our bubble-headed booby for the last time. Rest in Peace old friend.
First his home is destroyed by fire in November and now he passes away. That makes me want to cry. Your in a better place now Bob. Thanks for being B9. Your contribution to Lost in Space history is secure. You'll be missed.
Sad day for LIS and Robot fans everywhere. Bob May passed away this morning. He was always so nice to us robot builders and came down to talk to everyone at the conventions. He always gave his time and stories just like a true friend. We'll miss you Bob! Thank you for making our childhoods - and adulthoods filled with fun and our hero, The Robot.
It must have been tough to be in a robot suit for production of 83 Lost in Space shows.
Wow! Let's give this guy some credit and recognition.
How many folks could be in a robot suit for hours at a time during production, probably involving endless takes, of not just one Lost in Space show, but 83 of them, all within three years? Probably not many.
Bob May, my hats off to you. Thanks for a great job of playing the Robot in 83 wonderul Lost in Space episodes!

I was one of the last persons to see Bob alive and was at the viewing and funeral.
He was a wonderful friend to me.
He passed exactly 2 weeks to the day I saw him.
I have my final moments with him on video and film though...

Hey bob. When you were in there, was it motorized or did they give you a push or pull. Some of the scenes look like you went pretty fast.

Bob May clearly loved being the Robot on Lost IN Space, unlike Anthony Daniels who played C3PO in the Star Wars movies...

The "guy" in the video is Bob May.
He was the guy who was in the robot for the Lost in Space series.
A GREAT guy to talk with.
