Uhhhh....That's a really clunky way to get the 'noe up and potentially dangerous: You should be starting with the open side away from you and rock it up and over onto your shoulders...you take better advantage of the inertia built up as you straighten your legs and rely less on sheer strength.

Is this a Hellman prospector or slocan? Nice hull shape. Nice boat. Does she heel well?

Prospector. Its a great canoe; fast and light.  I think she heels well, but I have only paddled a handful of different canoes, so I'm not sure my opinion counts for much.
