@WWoodyW no i have a full floater 14 bolt rear axle from a 3500 chevy and a dana 44 hd axle out of an f250 both with 5.13 gears so it handles the 44s pretty good.if i had the stock little dana axles those 44s wold snap them like twigs. i have been doing a little bit of work on it since this video i will be posting some new ones very soon.
@blainedickinson, the stock amc 20 from the 80's cj7 had a much larger ring and pinion than the dana 44, but weaker 2 piece axles that had splined bolt on hubs, but some aftermarket axle companies offer solid forged chromoly axles that fix that problem, which is what i did ;)
ain't those tires a bit big for the 258 especially with dana 20s...? Seems like a dangerous combo
