yes this is a tough and complicated scene but lets be serious for a second...the ensemble is awful...engineer is good. thuy could have been a lot better. his voice is not strong enough for that role.
the person that was off kinda killed it and i like to hear this song with MALE voices that are strong and authoritative... i agree that there was not enough power through vocal and visual and a little too tame..

I'm nost saying we were professional, but we at least did a lot better. Everyone was on pitch, and we were all blended. We also had a better orchestra, and we actually had lighting effects.
Our actors were better too, from what I've seen. Our actors had to put more emphasis on acting than singing. The sing was just natually on a pitch. Half the time, I can't tell if it's yelling or screaming. There's too many things wrong with this.
And I know that lighting isn't nearly as important as acting, but there's not very good acting either.
I don't like the three guards who sing to Thuy and question the Engineer they don't sound that entusiastic like the guards on the "complete recording"
Whoever was at the sound board must have been a complete idiot. I am hearing dead zones all over the stage, and places where the mics are too hot. Moron.
Very true...you SHOULD NOT be able to hear individual voices in a chorus number with a chorus of that size. Reason #5,487,387 I hate high school productions of wonderful musicals. They always find a way to fuck it up.
hey that's to fark high school production's dothe best with musicals that they can i mean you can't go to a highschool production and expect to find a complete repleca of the profesiaonl thing my high school do great shows (e.g. buggy's malone we managed to do fine Seven brides for seven brothers was done fine actually come to think of it we did everything fine expect some of our actors don't show up for rehears until two weeks till show time but even then the show's still good!

why is everyone hating on this version? the kim is outstanding and the sets are incredible

I think this is pretty damn good, for a High School production. Yes there are flaws, but over all I think it is pretty darn good. I am enjoying it.

In a show like this, the acting is what should carry the performance, not lighting effects. Just thought you may like to know that!
