God bless everyone who fought in the Great War. I'm very sad that you're no longer with us but I'm very happy that you lived. RIP and many grateful thanks.
@mroxylite You are a waste of life who would not be alive today unless for sacrifices that Allingham and Patch made for you! You are a disgrace! Learn humility and respect because if you don't then one day someone might judge you!
In the setting of the sun on Rememberance Day 2009 I'm reminded of the unprecedented scale of human loss on both sides. Harry was a survivour and now a hero who spoke out against the futile onslaught of war... just as our Politicians do today with our Armed Forces, fortunately not as misguided by commanders as FM Haigue.
God bless them all in their efforts to keep Britain Peaceful and United
mroxylite, you need to get laid and stop revolving you're life around comments on youtube, try going on a dating site or a find a friend site as i suspect you have no friends in real life, outside the world of the computer, you are just a sad and tragic little worm, these people will be remembered for hundreds of years while you will still (as now) be an irrelevant little nothing. i suspect i already know what you are iv already seen loads of you on youtube like a virus.
mroxylite, would you like to elaborate on you're last comment? Or maybe tell people on youtube of your experiences fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan? Or have you never served in the Army? Just what do you know of the Great War 1914-18 have you even read a book or been to the Somme battlefields, if not then I'd suggest doing it before making such ignorant comments.
Why complete pricks like you exist mroxylite I will never understand. The simple answer is to ignore this level of IQ, and thankfully your a minority. But your profile clearly shows what sort of devil you are. I am sure one day when your on your way to hell a few of those brave guys like Harry will stick a bayonet up your arse on the way down. Your a sick man.
Rest in Peace Harry - you are an inspiration to us all and an honour to your country. You've taught us all its possible to leave in peace and to forgive.
I have just finished reading this book and it is fantastic. Everyone should read it. To get a glimpse through the life of someone who fought in The Great War is a rare thing that should be remembered, not forgotten. My Grandad would not talk about his experiences and threw his war medals in the Thames! So thank you Harry Richard and Bloomsbury

It's a good book, worth getting if you have an interest in the Great war, or 20th century history, as viewed by the common man.
