I was an assistant editor on this spot and I recall being at this music recording! It was at a little studio in Manhattan called Mayfair? in 1978. The music director was an African-American man who worked for Benton & Bowles and I think he had, like, three trombones for this piece.
LOL Same music and jingle for the TERRON commercial. I had one back in the 70's. It was a green triceratops looking beast with red eyes that would freeze when you flashed light on its throat. "Nothing can stop the beast from beyond, nothing can stop cause it TERRON!"
God, does this bring back memories! I had Darkon, Luminos, and The Shield...I got them at Circus World, in the local mall. Hard to believe that was thirty years ago.
Apparently these figures fell to pieces pretty easily, but my Super Joes seemed pretty durable while I had them.
this was my first exposure to world of joe. i had the shield and a friend had luminos. my brother had darkon and we had a hell of a time playing with those figures. good stuff.
Freaking 70s joes were so damn weird. First they were scruffy hippies, and then this odd "super joe"
Thank god for the 80s when Joe became a soldier again.

Darkon eventually became
Darklon, one of the coolest figures of the line and one of the best action figures ever.

Interesting that this commerical jingle is almost exactly like the the one in the 80's for the Cobra Commander. Of course... it was the same genre.
