  • This is absolutely incredible. Where was this taken from? Is it part of anything longer?

  • This song made me want to be a musician... i wish there was a full video of it!!

  • Comment removed

  • Guitar playing is fucking brilliant and of course the drummer too,but is it winter over in where u guys r coz it is cold a bit in australia and last but not least it was those black gloves that got me.Isnt it mainly for playing guitars!and did u say get stuffed coz I Thought that is what i heard?< Anyway i am single!!

  • @steeplepossum39 your forgetting the bass player!!!!!!!!! amazing work

  • @ElMondial True, so true. Avery is a killer bass player. The bass lines on the old albums very so powerful and filled every aspect of the songs. Not just as a rhythm section instrument, but as a voice of its own. That said, a rhythm section of Perkins and Avery is probably one of the most solid partnerships in alternative rock history.

  • I understand what it is I like about this band and more than anything its daves playing on guitar is awesome .He makes the guitar sound like its singing ,but they are definately the only band that has turned my head around and noticed the 90's music.

  • Very cool, but alas it's all for show. I seriously doubt that the band crammed into a little studio to cut this song.

  • God would do the world a favor if he'd exile all the narrow-minded John Frusciante fanboys to iceland and force them to listen to those first two Jane's albums.

  • GIFT is a great film, not to be watched with your girlfriend...

  • On the guy coming into the shot at the end has on his tShirt Which ones Pink? obviously a Floyd shirt.

  • wow, this is very rare...great..

    want some more

  • Incredible solo. Always loved JA, but this movie always blows me away.

  • I fucking love this song!!

  • This band, around this time.... changed my fu%$in life man!

  • I love it, thanks for posting it!

  • Dave is playing an RG? Didn't know he played those back then.

  • @Starbuckoriginal I thought it looked like a Jackson oh well Ibanez right? Well that was before PRS adored and endorsed him :) The sound is in the fingers anyhow. Gotta add that this is my most viewed and loved vid on youtube - I think I've seen it 47 times now - incredible musical relationships - they all click together so tight.

  • Jus watched Jane's playin In New Orleans on Sky Tv tonight. Halloween bash with Eric back on bass after all these years! They sounded incredible..I think Perk an Eric came from the same womb!! Dave is one of, if not the, most versatile an passionate guitarists I have ever heard and of course Perry is an angel from outer space! Would love to see the whole vid of Three Days recording off Ritual. Sublime! Soundtrack to my life. Cannot be beat! 'All of us with wings'. You will be here forever x

  • if only it was the whole song that would be SO COOL ! ! ! !

  • do u know how i can get this movie?cant find it.

  • Gift should be coming out on DVD any time. Can't wait. My VHS is only so good. :(

  • Yeah, I have to say this may have been the base track - there's a ton of overdubs and layers on the final version.

I saw them in a little club during the Nothing's Shocking tour. The acoustics were awful, so with all the echo/chorus it was just this big, swirling, beautiful mess. And Perry - what can you say? He was up there in a red and white pin striped suit, bottle of wine, and bouncing around the little stage and swinging from the rafters like some Iggy Pop/Joe Cocker hybrid. Amazing!

  • that's clearly not a live recording u deaf fucker!

  • @1conzo73 no, it's a studio recording.

  • @paolung It isn't.

  • @archimondez You're telling me the audio to this clip is NOT the studio album version of 3 days?

  • Movie; The Gift.

I usedto hang out woth them in the late 80s early 90s.

  • where can one find/buy the movie....Gift i think it was called.

  • @jdhed1 I know, been after it for ages. So far shit outta luck on here.

  • always what the scenario was when they recorded this song.....Awesome Band, I can listen to Ritual and nothing shocking over and over and over again.... and I have.

  • I used to listen to this a whole LOT back in the early 90s!!!!! Shit, now i realize how much this is TOTALLY "and she's buying a stairway to heaven".......... But still, all toguether its pretty well done.

  • saw them live in Belgium 1990, vooruit Gent, awsome band, the best i saw there

  • You're very lucky......shortly before they split!

  • It's a unique outtake beause Three Days is the sole song from Ritual De Lo Habitual (1990) they recorded all together.

  • awesome band

  • Erics hair is fucking cool

  • I did like it when dave played ibanez guitars i think that's an RG trem

now he play's is signature Paul Reed Smith which is cool.

  • If I have my facts straight they recorded this song in 3 takes. And by the way they were at their most wasted at this time. Especially Dave and Eric.

  • did 90210 use this for there opener in their tv show back in the 90s?

  • They sure did....this song used to play in the background while Jason Priestly was tea-bagging you on camera.

  • holy fuck, i thought i was just being crazy, thought i would get like nineteen thumbs down, but damn, good memory huh, i knew it sounded familar. that or a false memory lol

  • That's a great track - must have been spliced together from multiple takes.

    Psychedelic song!!

  • I could watch this over and over again. I just wish they had more studio footage!

  • footage is from the video "Gift" if I remember correctly. It has been a long time but, seek it out.

  • Yeah, but it's the only studion footage in there.

  • you are corect

  • Lol, Perry in the background trying to play acoustic guitar

  • Beautiful. A band totally at their peak, and what a peak it was.

  • woah, stephen perkins looks different. Where the hell can I find the whole video? It's bloody amazing

  • This is the only piece of video that exists of the ONLY recording of Three Days (since it was only done in one take.) This clip is from the Jane's Addiction movie The Gift.

  • 1 take? Where did you get that info? They may have recorded the scratch track in one take, but there are several guitar parts in that song. At the very least there was a few sessions of overdubbing. Oh well, its still one of the best songs ever and I would love to see any more unreleased studio footage...

  • Great clip-great jam!!! from the janes addication movie -The Gift

so in the moment -rather magical...

  • this is from a movie made by perry. Not really them recording 3 days. Although, they did record it in one take.

  • is this how they recorded the whole album, live in studio instead of traditional multitracking

  • janes addiction were out of their time, they were real about what they expressed. I think thats why they have still not received the respect they need as a band

  • No, they just got swept into the undertow by the comparatively mediocre (though admittedly influencial)album "Nevermind."

  • No..janes addiction was something more then that...idc if no one can understand me...but when i first heard janes addiction their sound touched me so deeply into my consciousness..and their sound for me was so...intimate...like when i first got nothing shocking and ritual de lo habitual...their style and sound..image w/e i fell into....their subject..but more important their music. my friends dont really like them just like 2 or 3 of their songs but i have all of their records..lol..so....

  • I was only saying that they're amazing, but Nevermind's explosion in the mainstream kinda overshadowed it, which it shouldn't have. rdlh was and still is one of my favorite albums of all time.

  • i feel ya....

  • @Cleverconveyence It makes sense though... JA was never really a band that the "mainstream" can "get"..

  • @HardAsARock222 I remember an article from 1989 on Jane´s, someone wrote something like "art school rock meets metal"... an attempt to tag something so unique.

  • how did you see janes in 92?? they split in september 91!

  • Awesome vid. Where the hell did you get this?

Saw Jane's in 92. Biest gig I've ever been too - that's aside the fact that Primus were supporting!

  • Jane's broke up in 1991. It sounds like you saw an early Porno for Pyros gig at one of the 1992 Lollapalooza shows they did. Still good stuff!

  • @zorak1997 Hello mate. I meant 1991 - gig was at the Bristol Academy in the UK. Primus on the support slot. Soundgarden for me was 92!!

  • @MrPosh55 - There you go - you know your stuff!

There are a lot of people out there who just don't know what they don't know! I've spoken to people who swear that at a shwo they want to how Eric Avery joined Jane's on stage in 1998 for a couple songs. Oh, the ignorance!! :)

  • Hey man that's right - I was at the Bristol gig too, is now the 02 Academy, used to be called the Studios - Primus was the support. It was the Ritual tour.

  • @smooooooooooooooooog : Yes mate. I remember Primus as they literally blew the house away. It was made even more special by the fact that I'd never heard of them at that point. They were so good I wondered if Jane's would be able to reply. But they did :)

  • yes it's a fender precision!!

...i love this band,i love their songs,i love their albums,i love thier style!! jane's the best of all time!!

  • Anyone got a clue what bass is eric avery playing here...cause he used that bass in Jane's early days and I can never make it out...I'm guessing it's a Fender Precision??, correct me if i'm wrong plz!

Btw, this record is truly an old forgotten classic...my 2nd favorite album of all time...who else gets fucking chills when they listen to it? who else besides me gets lost in such a beautiful record???

  • I get the chills. I get lost. I like to fuck to it!

  • pretty neat, time hust keeps on tickin, one day Perry is going to be on stage with a cane jumpin around, he is still the bomb and that drummer was f-in great!

  • eric avery is the coolest, my favorite bass player.

  • hear hear

  • I ment there'sintroduction and this fragment in the movie.. :P

  • it's from "GIFT" there is only introduction of "Three Days" in this film "Three days was the morning.." I tell you to watch "GIFT" - great film directed by Perry

  • isn't this featured on the movie Gift?

  • Who has the rest of this? POST IT NOW... This little tittlely ending came from somewhere... post the rest of it now!

    Yes, I am selfish...

  • what's the name of the movie????

  • Gift

  • fucking amazing

  • diesel389 you're right!!

  • no idea that perry played guitar.

Fantastic song by a fantastic band

  • ASTONISHING!

One question... what is that Ibanez? (I know it's RG, but what numer)

  • This was actually done in one take. Fucking incredible. Dave Navarro is one of the most decorated and underated guitarists of a generation.

  • @diesel389 He gets so much shit and its so unfair. Great fucking player for JA, no one else would fit.

  • @diesel389 Absolutely true.. this solo is sooooo sick

  • fucking hell, I had no idea they recorded footage from this album at the studio.

    PLS UPLOAD MORE!

  • Too unreal for words !

  • fuck that's amazing. Anyone know if that was just a first take of that solo for Dave or did he plan it out a bit in advance? It's unbelieveable!

  • the most underrated band of all time...they were awesome!!

  • jesus they were good.

  • Ok, excuse me while I go change my pants...That was fucking orgasmic!

  • yeah, I wish it was longer too, but unfortunately, only this short part of the song appears in the movie. I will try to upload more outtakes though, stay tuned :)

  • Is there anyway you could post the entire film? Ive been a longtime fan of the band and still havent had a chance to see it, let alone find it. Im not sure how long it is but if you could maybe break it down into three or four parts that would be awesome.... Greatest band of all time, in my opinion. Thanks for cool stuff, keep it coming!!!

  • @kkbo more like album version than "studio version" nice try tho....nothing special here .

  • @kkbo more like album version than "studio version" nice try tho....nothing special here . all i know is that i love my girl.

  • can you PLEASE put more of this, or anything other outtakes like this, up?? this is great...only wish it was longer!

  • eric is such a beast in this song, this footage is fuckin awesome

  • Thanks for putting this up. Could you be so kind and UL the whole movie (cut up of course)? I haven't seen this movie in about 10 years.
