  • Ahh rock on, brah. Beautiful cover! Nothin' but sweetness and light!

  • anyone else think this sounds like the left4dead2 theme song?

  • BEST Curtis Loew cover,ever.Thanks.

  • mighta been the beers, but i jusrt watched your vid 10 times. love your arrandemant. thanks for my latest challenge.

your slide looks pretty heavy. i have one i turned from an alloy called inconel. its about .100" thick, and real easy to handle. hard as hell, almost too bright on my tele (copy)

ok, its a squier, but i put repop '52 tele pickups in it, and wired the 3 way like an esquire. now i wish i could chicken pick.

  • very nice

  • i like this

  • I love listening to players that use slides. Gives it that old sound like you are sitting on a porch or something....Nice job

  • It seems 14 people are hard of hearing and/or seeing and clicked the wrong button.

  • @kinger2019 this is in an open e config, but the actually key may be different as if

a capo was on the neck. hope that helps..regards

  • Good job mate!! Loved it!!

  • Hey, csason, you should try doing a cover of "Old Friend" by Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers. I think you would do a damn good job.

  • @Gradey3 I took your advise and did one..it was a while back..sry. if you google old friend csason it will come up

  • damn, thats fuckin good, man.

  • I just got a blues slide yesterday and i want to play this like you man.

  • Hearing this version makes me want to begin learning it. I have the slide that i've played around with a little with your video I can get some great techniques. The raw sound using the slide brings this song out like you're playing it on the banks of the Mississippi in 1931. Great job

  • Awesome job man. Its them people all were fools, not people often do. Haha

  • u aint just a whistln dixie, there brother!

  • your great... ive ben playing guitar for awile now . and just now started learning slide... if you could make a vid showing some lesson ,that would be great.

  • your a fucking bad ass brother. You just showed me how it's done. I'm about to rock this tune in about two weeks infront of abunch of fellow wild eye'd whiskey drankin Texans. I'll carry your spirit with me

  • this dude's voice is what Randy Travis wishes he could sound like. Well done!

  • great cover of this song i like the way you play it

  • I really like your version.....is that possible to publish a video to show youre 'sliding'technique,i got this kind of 'finger slinding thing' and the ballad of curtis loew is one of my favirite song or maybe just make a video who shown us how to play it like u????Please reply it would be really appreciated...Keep going man u got it!!

  • I've been playing 40 years. You just move the slide up and down the neck and pick with your other hand. It also helps if you are a southern man like me..and if you were friends with the band that helps also.

  • i love it...best version on here..iv always wanted to learn how to play a slider...i just dont know if class or a metal slider would be better to buy

  • metal on metal sounds like metal on metal.

glass on metal sounds like glass or ceramic on metal, it's a choice.

  • rock on brother.

  • damn skippy

  • Tuning to open E alone gets you top billing for Loew covers! The great singing, slide riffs, and harmonics are just icing! Great work.

  • Great job!!!!! Let's keep them alive by playing there music. Please play All I Can Do Is Write About It. You don't hear this song from Skynard and I know you have the talent to do them justice. Much Love Peach

    Regards, Mark

  • killer!

  • Very Cool

  • good job. You made you own version and thats what i like about that.

  • you might not be the best musician in the world, but I'm feelin' it and diggin' it. Nice tune dude

  • YOU WILL LIVE TO BE 120 YEARS OLD WITH A SOUND LIKE THAT! You must have sold your soul at the crossroads....I have pictures of swamps, backwoods, and old country stores when I hear this.....play by the delta

  • That's fucking awesome..

  • great pickin, i'm new to the slide and alt tunings, how is your guitar tuned?

  • hell yea good

  • Great voice and love the added harmonics, thanks!

  • HELL yes, that was divine. excellent interpretation. that is the very essence of the Blues, making it your own, and not faking it. the vibrato and use of harmonics... gorgeous. thank you for posting this. cheers!

  • you are so welcome.. Thank you

  • This is my song. And u made my day playing it. LOVE IT! Give u 300 a hour to play a night for us

  • Absolutely !!!

  • sir that sounds straight out of the mississippi delta. thats incredible....

  • That was the bomb...made my day!

  • Blues, nothing short of it. Great work, I think I'm going to buy a slide.

  • Thanks !!

  • thanks..

  • Great job with this! I like the way you sung it too:) 5*****Jane

  • this is great. what tuning are you using?

  • It's 'arranged' to an open E, or open D..this happens to be about open D#...

    Thanks for viewing.

  • Very nice! I get my harmonica out and jam with you But evrybodys in bed. Maybe later...Good sound

  • Wow, that is really nice! Good voice and a great feel on a nice and relaxing skynyrd song!

  • Well thanks..whitecranecanada.

    Regards !

  • WOW! I like it

  • GRANDIOSO!!!..SKYNYRD FRYND

  • Man im like cryin man beautiful absolutley beautiful

  • is the reason you use open E flat (or D# your depending on how you look at it) cause it works for your voice?

  • No, actually..I tuned the guitar, and then 'correct' it, in the process of playing, meaning

I check one string (6th against 4th, etc) against another for intonation..and along the way dropped a bit..sry it wasn't in key.

  • thanks. i use a korg tuner they no longer make... a GT12 great item for open G and D (A & E are too much stress on the truss rod, easier to capo)

Do you listen to Elmore James & Johnny Winter?

  • Wow.. Korg is a tuner I haven't seen in a while.

Yes, I have listened to Elmore a few times. I studied JW, and went to his shows a few times. I like Johnny a lot, he played a chitlin circuit after his heyday, and the venues were small and HOT..so they were good shows, around his 'real peak' after the release of 3rd Degree, really good stuff, all blues.

  • you might want to check out Ronnie Baker Brooks - Bald Headed Woman off Golddigger sounds like a page out of Elmo's play book...with a JW twist!

  • nice job but your tuning is 1/2 step off

  • that was real good,, sweet and chunky tone you got, cool vocals as well...

  • r u the same guy as jesseblues ?

  • Naw man..two different fellers..

    I like Jesse though.

  • oh just wondering ya'll have the same kinda voice

  • I played along with one of Jesse's vids.. I also used his version of Crossroads in one of my vids.. :) shh Don't tell him..it will go to his head.

  • lol okay

  • Nice playing bro. You made me smile.

  • Excellent stuff

  • thats so kool

  • wow

  • By the way, is it a standard tuning ?

  • Thanks.. no it's open E. It may be off key, but that is the basic arrangement of the string tuning..open E

  • Offkey it is, I'm coming up with something like Open D# here. Very nicely done though, I hope to learn it myself someday.

  • sweet

  • A sssslide player with a heart and a Ron Paul supporter. beautiful stuff!

  • Awesom to the E 10-4 roger over

  • Audee Auuuuuuuuuuuuudeeee O How am I modulating ? Come on in..

  • Lookin pretty good up to the 194 then you got a 4 wheel on the shoulder. Full grown @ the 205 ..

  • Lots of feeling here. great cover, very original take on this one.

  • Thank you..

  • Does anyone know how that guitar is tuned?

    Sounds great.

  • open E

  • I like the chimes right there. Is that a gibson acoustic-electric you are playin?

  • Yessir.. that is an old ES125 TD..

  • That was badass. Been learning this song, but I'm just strumming usual like. Been dying to learn to slide. Especially now that I hear that. Great interpretation.

  • Thanks george...
