It's a good orchestra...but they just kill the melodies, especially Kokiri Forest. I was litterally cringing when I was hearing those dissonant french horns and flutes arpegios wich were completely unessescary. Don't get me wrong, this piece is great...I would have prefered a more...«simple» interpretation let's just say.

I mean, the more I watch videos like these, the more I see guys playing flutes, which IS fairly common, but until now, I hadn't seen a guy playing piccolo, and I watch a LOT of performances from professional groups. Considering I only play in my high school band, and I'm only one of two guy flutes I know, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

@terrivel11 Something that often happens is that, instead of having a dedicated piccolo specialist, flutists will play both instruments in different segments. In a similar fashion, oboists at times also have to play the english horn (cor anglais) in a piece or another.

Ha, english horn. That's a laugh. My school has enough trouble getting an oboe player as it is. How similar are they though?

@terrivel11 From what I've read, they're quite similar in use, but their ranges are different, and their fingering is probably (entirely) different as well. There's a bunch of other instruments in the oboe family as well, like the oboe d'amore which was used in many baroque pieces, and it's very likely different as well. I'm no authority in the instrument family, as you can see, but I've done a bit of reading on them.

I've never been a fan of Zelda games... but I cherish the music a lot. Whitout it wouldn't even know about the game. However this orchestra gives the songs too many twists, they deteriorate from the actual songs a bit. Anyway thumbs up :)
