@pololosky I'm not quite sure if the R4 Gold will switch between themes but it should. Just check to make sure that all the themes are correctly named from folders to the actual picture name and that all the pictures are the correct size. I also found that it helps sometimes if you have just one theme in the _system_ folder not in a folder.

@shinyLucario36 I'm not exactly sure. This video was for the original R4, you could try putting just the themes in the root level or in the _rpg folder if thats correct i'm not sure.

@shinyLucario36 sadly not ... i try like 5 different r4 before getting a genuin one and then you see the difference .. but still if you like to play in folder on your r4 then you can also take an existing theme on your r4 and then replace all the pic it contain by your own but it have to be the same format or it will be blury or color mix or black and white .. the result can be wierd haha and if you got a real r4 then use alice ..

Also, when im switching between the different themes, i know you are supposed to get that thing that pops up and says "Manual Mode (Theme X)" But i have another one that says "Automatic Mode (THEME08)" Even after i put in a THEME08 i still get that notice... anyone else had that issue?

@WutsTheIssue that might just be because the automatic mode changes every month. seeing that its august is month 8 there might be some relation there. i would just check to make sure that all of the THEMEXX folders are spelled correct.

@Nottspiff Well, first i would try and delete any pics you may have in the root level of the _system_ folder, next make sure that the folder set-up is as follows: _system_ -> themes -> THEME01 (through THEME12) and your pics go in there. Make sure the files are named according to what part of the theme they are as well as the right size.

@PRECKTO You can recover the org. theme from the disc that you got with your R4. Adding any complete theme in the _system_ folder should add it as only 1 theme, creating a theme folder like in the tut will get you the rotations you get when you press select.

okay, starting with themes, in the _system_ folder you should have a folder named "themes" exactly like that, in that folder you should have 12, not 1, not 10, but 12 other folders starting with "THEME01" to "THEME12", inside those you put your pics.  i'll send a message for moonshell.

themes 0-12 should all be in the same folder named "themes" in the _System_ folder.

in multimedia when you say you can see the folders but there is nothing in them might be because the pictures are hidden or possible be compressed or encrypted.

i think i have a more recent version because it comes with this flash drive usb thingie and an sd card thing that you can put the micro sd card into. and when i put in the flash drive with the micro sd card it says that it doesn't read it. why doesn't it work?

i don't believe you have a newer one, just check out your computer's USB ports, if you have an older computer only USB 2.0 will work with this. On one of my PC's the front 2 ports aren't powered correctly so i have to use the back. If all else fails send me a message and i'll tell you what to do.

Yeah, just remember that multimedia is loading a different program like MoonShell. so themes don't apply there, also you can make themes for that.

A lot of people are having the same problem.

You have to make sure that you have the full kernel update if you updated your R4, that means the _DS_MENU.dat and the System file.
