I am not too fond of the EF I ride. Only think that I like about it is that when it's floored, it will hold out a gear until 2700 RPMs. Still slowish, still sucks. But it has a nice growl for an 08 5.9
Here in Florida, Cummins engines aren't very popular on school buses, but CAT's and International's are. I've ridden both a 1999 and 2001 Thomas EF 89 Pass. With CAT Engine and they sounded GREAT! you could hear the 99 all the way across the neighborhood, not to mention it had the best pick up. However, they do have transmission problems like crazy! We went through 4 quarts of Trans fluid weekly on our 99. And the 99 leaked/burnt oil like crazy. When we sat at lights or waiting to pull out, smo
@fdpricejr a few of our buses have the CATs in them so I can relate to that. The first time I was in the one bus with a CAT (had to practice on it because it has air brakes and I'm having that restriction removed) it didn't sound like it was going to start (not only that, it sounded snippy); but when I let go of the key (while thinking "ok try again") it started up haha!

I think you liked revving that engine. :-D Interesting light above the stairwell.
The old EF driver's area isn't nice to look at, either.

@09ThomasEF
Not only is it not nice, but it was HORRIBLY uncomfortable. The steering wheel is just way too big.

@09ThomasEF I know from personal experience that the factory stairwell light on these burns to hot, so many just add another stairwell light.
