The CDJ-2000 will be available in November 2009 with a suggested retail price of $2,150. The CDJ-900 will be available in December 2009 with a suggested retail price of $1,600.
For more accurate tempo control while mixing, each player is enhanced with increased frame increments of 0.5 frames that allow the DJ to set a cue point or loop point with more precision.
To achieve the highest sound quality, both the CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 were equipped with the audio industry's highly respected Wolfson DAC processors, delivering a very transparent, accurate audio signal resulting in a highly improved signal-to-noise ratio and increased headroom.
Jog Dial - Adjustments for tension were enhanced from previous models allowing the DJ to further customize the feel of the jog dial from a light to heavy sensitivity. Four illuminated areas on the sides of the Jog Dial aid the DJ in finding the desired spot on the plate in dim lighting environments.
Needle Search - Helps DJs instantaneously get to a specific part of a song with a simple touch of the Needle Search pad. Found directly below the CDJ-2000's high resolution LCD panel, the touchpad lets the DJ "place the needle" and jump quickly to a specific part of a music track.
LCD panel and Graphic User Interface - The flagship CDJ-2000 features a large WQVGA 6.1-inch full-color 480 x 234 LCD panel for displaying song titles and jacket art as well as detailed track information so DJs can select songs at a glance. The wave data of each song is also illustrated on screen, showing high and low amplitude to further assist DJs.
The HID controls were implemented into the players for superior interfacing with software, faster communication speed over MIDI, audio/visual streaming and two-way information on displays. HID enables easy, precise and native control of DVS systems such as SeratoTM Scratch Live3, Native Instruments' Traktor4 series and MixVibes Cross5 without the need for time-coded discs.
The new turntables feature a 24-bit/48 kHz sound card and HID and MIDI control compatibility via USB port. Up to 35 controls on the surface of each player can be used to trigger other devices, such as DJ effecters and software by way of HID and/or MIDI
The new turntables feature Pioneer's Pro DJ Link that enables up to four CDJ-2000/900s to be connected via the Link Port to share a single music source, whether it is a hard drive, USB and/or SD memory card. Once linked, users have the ability to quickly find, display and choose the music file from a connected source through the CDJ's built-in display and control knobs. A quick turn of the knob lets users scroll through created files and folders and a push of the knob confirms the song choice.
Users can then transfer analyzed music files to their preferred storage media and play them directly from the new CDJ turntables. The software offers song information that can be viewed easily during performances on the CDJs' large displays to quickly search and access content by genre, title, BPM, etc. Also, as analyzed tracks are played through the CDJ products, the turntables automatically create and save a play history enabling users to review past performances on their PCs.
Beatgrid - Utilizing the new Quantizing feature, cue points and loops can be set perfectly on-beat. The Quantize feature ensures cue points are set accurately and automatically, correcting and synching beats during manual looping or a real-time cueing, preventing off beat mistakes.
Tag Info & Artwork - Edit and customize the file information to performance needs.
Hot Cues, Cue Points, and Loops -
Playlists - Create, edit and manage customized playlists for various performances.
Beatgrid - Utilizing the new Quantizing feature, cue points and loops can be set perfectly on-beat. The Quantize feature ensures cue points are set accurately and automatically, correcting and synching beats during manual looping or a real-time cueing, preventing off beat mistakes.
Beats Per Minute (BPM) Data - BPM / Tempo information for each song is identified and processed into rekordbox for use by the DJ in preparing and performing a set.
Waveform Data - The waveform of each song is identified and then displayed on the bottom screen for quick data visualization and for use with the needle search function on the CDJ-2000 turntable.
The CDJ-2000 includes rekordboxTM, Pioneer's proprietary music management software that organizes and catalogs a DJ's entire music library. When music files are imported to rekordbox, the software analyzes each file and prepares them for use specifically with the new CDJ turntables. Key elements of Pioneer's rekordbox software
Adapting to today's variety of media formats, the CDJ-2000 enable playback of MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF audio files from CDs and USB memory devices, and from DVDs and SD cards as well on the CDJ-2000. A USB port located on top of the turntable enables users to quickly connect an external storage device such as a Tonium PacemakerTM2 or a hard drive packed with music files, minimizing the need to bring a laptop computer to performances.
No Sir , you Suck - must be hard not to have made it as a DJ, Thing is ANY real DJ understands 1 Who Zabiela is and 2. Pioneer are the Standard in Professional DJ Performance EVERYWHERE! - Best if you don't post your ignorance again!
It looks like it's just a cdj with a hard drive........I don't understand what's so special about these. Probably cost two thousand dollars and to me completely not worth it in any way. Oh well, to each their own.
Obviously some of you don't gig around the states or internationally. Or even gig often.I receive music from labels and producers every day. When you have to burn multiple cd's (i burn 1 cd per release), label, maintain and not to mention, carry them. Its gets to be a bit much. The older you get, the harder it is. If Pioneer has come up with a revolutionary method of performing, more power to them.
Oh come on, so get a CD book. CD's are not hard to maintain, it's a piece of piss compared to lugging around vinyl & acetate which weigh 50-100lbs easy and not to mention losing them to airport security or dodgy venues often. They are actually worth money, unlike CDs.
did you ever noticed that there are many gay djs around spinning vinyl? no i am not gay and i use vinyl and cd, but reading such primitive comments is kind of rubbish and ridiculous, because most gay people are cultured and have respect what it seems you dont have. just burbling the whole time with no sentences and no meaning .... WOOOW, what a respectful culture you are living. just wondering what kind of dj music you are listening ... For sure no House or Techno because they know Respet ...
I wasn't using the word "gay" in the literal sense. I am saying laptop DJs are tools, etc. Thank you for being a prime example.
Oh.. and it's sad I have to state this to you, but I am not calling you an actual tool, for example a hammer, wrench, and so on. I don't feel like reading another ridiculous response from you.
Very interesting but about time really! I don't see why DJ's have a problem looking at a laptop screen as long as there's hands on control to go with it.. CDJ's have a poor little crap screen compared to a laptop - how does having a poor calculator screen prove the experience for the crowd and the DJ? Technics & Traktor Scratch Pro are amazing for me. Post it notes? CDs? are you kidding?
Instead of writing out your tracks on a post-it note, why don't you just hold shift-command-4 and take a 'photo' of the playlist and then shrink it to fit in your cd wallet and print! Bob's your uncle no more post-it notes!
(As one who owns and uses Pioneer DJ products) If it is anything like Pioneer products of the past, it will lack the bells & whistles of the lower-end (which one would assume would be on a higher-end--and more expensive--product) and have an unbelievably-large price-tag for what is is/does. It will also likely be about three generations behind where computer technology is when it is released :-( .
I think it will be like a cdj1000 with built in hard drive with features like usb/midi the same features the cdj400 offers with new dsp fx(s) - LOL - Who knows ! - This Is Pioneer where talkin about.
So he favors looking at a screen on the mixer over looking at his laptop screen? Makes sense =\ Despite that should be interesting to see what the big P come up with, considering they're the current benchmark.
Whether if you control your music from the Deck or laptop.. It doesnt make a difference. The DJ.. if he's good, would be into the crowd. Looking at the deck doesnt do anything to contribute on your skills. Hello..... So you are not taking away from the crowd....
here we go again just barley able to afford the pair of cdj 1000s djm 800 is a far way off whatever next pioneer must think im loaded, i wish i was an equipment tester/advisor or maybe you can bung me a pair when they go on sale lol
its the size of the cdj1000, CD, MP3 playback, Built in hard drive, midi support, software of music selection, including a huge knob =] built in sound card... etc etc... looks great. its the breed of a new species.
probably its a CDJ 1000 design, with a lightened jog (possibly removing the jog screen) and a Denon DN-S3700 like screen, only bigger. USB for sure, no effects (you have your DJM for that) and it will be able to play CD's. Theres a possibily it works with Traktor or SSL as well
still think is a tuch sencative hologen dj that looks like a dj and mixes for you, oh yer and no usb so it makes all your other digital gear un usable and they make sh@t loads of you every year.
My spin, would be in the lines of a MIDI Turntable -1200's style platter controller, with it's own color LCD touch screen. It would work in conjunction with the option of a laptop for effects, It would be able to be compatable any other software you desired. And you could map the controls any way you wanted. (In my wildest dreams) I can dream can't I?
