  • worth 50 Transformers movies.

  • Again, this is just excellent work! I do love your backdrops and settings, reminds me of the golden age of film-making. You make all yourself, or do you buy some of the props?

  • I really like this. What did you use for paint and hair? Very nice work!

  • That was really, really, really, REALLY well done. I've been getting into this type of stop motion lately, and seeing this really motivates me. You did really good

  • very nice puppet you could pretend its a cyeti in a othere stop=motion also very smooth and realistic movement.keep up the good work.

  • Very cool!!!

  • This is absolutely brilliant! You've vastly improved over time, I can tell after watching your super old ones. I'll be following your work. Keep doing stop motion.

  • this was awesome!!!incredible,briliant!!!

  • Terrific stuff. I love it when he wipes his mouth after munching the banana. Very Joe Youngish.

  • Thanks kuhnigget,

He was a lot of fun to animate. When I come up with a suitable story for him I will feature him in a film.

    Tim

  • im an animator were do u get the puppets from io need some. cool chqracter by the way whats his name

  • I have found it very hard to make a puppet out of foam and latex. Hhm. Is plasticine acceptable? It is easier to animate. You can sculpt some intricate stuff into it, too. I am making a plasticine squid, right now for the spider pit in a Kong prequel I've just conceived to make. All is going well.

Kess' prequels will always be better than mine. But I will try. It'll be good practise, at least. Hehe.

  • How did you make him? It is amazing! What did you make him for?

  • Hey chocachoc,

Thanks for the comments. I made him for myself, for a future project. I built him up out of urethane foam, like the stuff cushions are made from. His head, chest, and teeth were sculpted out of clay, I made molds of the sculpts and cast pieces out of latex and applied them to the model. I painted it and applied the fur and there you go.

I checked out you page, very impressive stuff.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for watching,

    Tim

  • That is very well animated. I wish I could even get close to that. Mine are at 25 fps and are not excellent like yours but very standard.

I like the character that you gave Cykong. It suits his appearance. Clever idea with getting the most famous characters in stop motion history and making a mix. Are you planning to do a film with him?

  • Hey TheCyberController,

Thanks for the kind words. I will use him a film sometime soon.

I have seen your work as well, good stuff. I think I answered a question for you on another site, about casting Dinosaur heads in one piece.

    Anyway, thanks again,

    Tim

  • Great work! Cykong is cute, epsecially when he eats that banana!

I don't mind digital, but I will be getting an antique Bell & Howell Motion Picture camera soon and some 16mm stocks. Once I get enough money, I will move onto 35mm Motion Picture film, and convert all the Digital, 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm(and 25mm) work onto 35mm format.

    All in good time, hey?

Anyway, superb animation. I have left my rating(5 stars), and keep up the great work! O'Bie and Harryhausen would both be so proud!

  • Thanks Clay.

  • Great stuff! It's an incredible feeling to see this kind of animation in 2008! I think the CGI you see in movies these days is TOO SMOOTH! I hope you maintain that great Jim Danforth/Ray Harryhausen feeling as you begin to experiment with digital.

  • Hey pheemer,

Thanks for the comments, and I will try my best in the digital age. I still have all my film equipment as well.

    Tim

  • Very smooth animation and original creature!

  • Thanks SuperMegalosaurus,

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    Tim

  • Nice work here. I see your moving into the digital relm of animation. Much easier than your film days. Great character too.

  • Thanks blaisingm,

Digital is great, but I still shoot in film as well, depending on the project.

    Tim

  • Amazing work! puts my stop motion to shame!

I look forward to this short film. :)

  • Hey Vijay,

Strange that you would comment today, earlier I believe that we were both at Theseventhvoyage site.

Thanks for the kind words, and don't forget that I have been doing animation since 1975. It you look at my older stuff it is not quite as polished.

I have seen you films and they are pretty good, I would suggest using backgrounds to make the miniature worlds complete.

Thanks again and keep on animating.

    Tim

  • make him fight the dinosaurus lives t rex

  • Hey reddalel555, that is a great idea, except that he is too big for them. There would be no fight, the Dinos would run if they saw him.

Thanks for the idea anyway, and thanks for watching.

    Tim

  • your welcome.

oh, and could give some ideas about a chapter in my lego king kong movie which takes place after the spider pit?

  • Hey reddalek555,

I am a little out of ideas right now, but I will give it some thought next week.

I sent you an email, but I think you did not see it, stating I have a new movie up called Fish Tales. I think that you will like it.

Thanks again for watching and I will put my thinking cap on.

    Tim

  • So excellent animation and a brilliant puppet.

  • Thanks Vortex42.

It was a fun puppet to make, and hopefully next year he will be in his own film.

    Thanks again,

    Tim

  • Great Job

    "g4tv098"

  • Hey Clone Trooper098,

    Thanks for watching, and commenting.

  • Really glad to see Cykong (finally) coming to life! Great job!!

  • Thanks CreativeGiant.

  • I love your puppet! Soooo cool!

  • Thanks jpatrich,

It was a lot of fun to design and make.

    Tim

  • We got a Ray Harryhausen from the East Coast.

  • Thanks Matt,

but I'm on the West coast now.

  • He looks good Tim! Give him another monster to fight!

  • Thanks,

I am not sure exactly what I am going to do with this model yet.

  • excellent puppet and animation Tim

  • Thanks Kess,

He was a lot of fun to make.

  • Cool! I enjoyed that. Thanx, Tim!

  • Thanks Shran,

I can't wait to actually put him in a film.

    Tim
