Your sauce will be better with oregano, fresh basilic , oignons, some salt, some crushed black pepper, one pinched by sugar, chilli strong, celery cut finely, a carrot cut in dices to take away acidity, fresh mushrooms, the paste of tomato and fresh tomatoes or in box... BUT may be you had made what you was able without had made a real big grocery ???????
