I love this version and how different it sounds. But I love the original too cause Bryan Adams makes it sound like he's going to cry while he's singing which almost makes me cry.

I have a question: I know in Iceland 'a' is pronounced 'ow'. But sometimes when I listen to the songs I can hear the 'a' pronounced as an 'a' and other times as 'ow'. Is there a rule why the 'a' sounds different in places? Or am I just hearing it wrong?

It really is a mystery to me how the Icelandic make that voiceless "l" sound like in "allt"! I've been trying hard to pronounce it correctly but I always fail =(

Actually for me as German Icelandic learner it sounds like a mix between "þ", "f" and a harsh "h". So, how actually do you make that sound? =)

Too bad I don't have it on the swedish DVD. Usaly we have Finnish and Icelandic. But we just have Russia and Finnish.

Haha, yes, I agree with you. I have Hungarian and Hebrew on my DVD ô.0 I am used to have Swedish and Finnish. Though my opinion is that all the nordic languages should be together on a DVD. I would also very much be able to hear Norwegian and Danish.

Can someone explain to me the 'h' in Icelandic? Because in the song, I sometimes hear it pronounced as a 'k' and others as the usual English 'h'.

-h is always pronounced like -h. You know, like in English. What is confusing you though must be -hv. Hv is pronounced as -kv for some reason. It really isn't a big problem. Hvalir and Kvalir is not the same word you see. So we must keep it as -hv.
