not that i didn't like this os but i run this on my 8gb acer aspire one and it was a lot slower than linux mint i am using now. plus no sound :(. For netbooks i would strongly recomend linux mint with arora as a web browser, vlc as media player and quod libet as a music player. If this combination runs fast on my aspire one then it will run lightning fast on any other netbook
@meesieb get Moblin not MeeGo, Moblin is ready for home users MeeGo is not, yeah go with a decent cheap netbook and install this Acer Aspire One works well with Wi-Fi and LAN (Wired)
@The2010World Yeah, I just got my netbook. Dual boot with XP works fine. Moblin works awesome! So smooth. Myzone hangs sometimes, but I still love it!. Sound output works on my Netbook. Wifi works great also. For a netbook, this is a Great OS. (Acer Aspire One User). (This comment was posted with Moblin ;-D)
Hey, Great video! How did you manage to install it on your USB flash? I don't want to mess my internal hdd up so I was hoping that you can send me a link of a usb guide.
there are HUGE differences in "not working" and not CONNECTING....if it doesn't connect, that's 100% your fault....
you're only shooting yourself in the foot going from linux back to windows because something doesn't work the 1 time you try it...
ive figured out that ubuntu/linux is well worth the time spent learning how to use it....its a better OS, all around, its like a bizarro mac os...i never used my netbook before i switched, now i use my netbook more than my desktop.
I like this OS so much. It's really better than Ubuntu or Kubuntu Netbook Remixes. The first time I used it, like 5 months ago, I didn't really like it because it was full of bugs and errors. And, I just re-installed it on my netbook and I was shocked. They made so many changes and updates on this OS. It's way better than before.
I tried it on a flash drive just like you did without installing... Unfortunately I am all wireless so when I find that my wireless didn't work. And Moblin is all about on-line. I couldn't get the experience.
How turn off PC? I have Acer TravelMate 15" 5335

Its nice but for whatever reason it says "wifi unavailable" on much crucial. A big let down since I like the interface. Oh well, back to windows xp.

It looks ok on your netbook :)
Let me know about the battery life, if it changed :D

very good video. When is Moblin going to be fully ready? BTW what camera are you using ; it looks like an SLR?
swingking338 2 years ago
Don't know the exact timeline, but it's pretty solid now. Good eye on the camera. Canon EOS Rebel T1i. :)
KevinCTofel 2 years ago
@KevinCTofel moblin (now meego) is still not fully solid.. it has many bugs, some which make it freeze up. I really hope intime it becomes solid.
webguy943 9 months ago
@swingking338 Its dead now ... its being merged with maemo from nokia right now to form meeGo

NB200 doesn´t support output sound too

Yup, it sucks, but it's a known bug that the Moblin team knows about. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
