  • Not many people can say "I think I'll go make some more gold bars today." and actually do it.

  • A little bit of explanation as to what you are doing would be helpful. Also how do you remove the impurities?

  • @FreedomForYouAndMe The pour borax in the crucible and all the impurities stick to it. Since gold is heavy and all the non metals, stones or diamonds stick to borax and floats to the top. During the final 2 minutes of the melt a glass tube is inserted into the crucible to get a sample to test the purity or percentage of gold by a x-ray spectrometer. Then the molten gold is poured into a mold to let it cool and then dumped in the sink to separate the borax which black now and hard as a rock.

  • @xyzpeter

THANKS!! What does it cost to have someone do this for you?

  • @FreedomForYouAndMe It doesn't cost me anything since I sell the gold bar to them. If I just wanted to melt and keep the bar, it would cost me $50.

  • at 1:00 wtf y wouldnt you go through it all before? you could of gotten hurt. i guess this is the idgaf way
