Too bad that's so short. Bob is really hitting an intense high in a song that means so much about hot Minneapolis summers to all of us. This is kinda in the Youth Anthem category, dangit.
Is this what he's doing now? Just him on electric with no band? I mean, it's still Bob Mould and he's still playing Celebrated Summer, but I don't know... what happened to the band he had with Brendan Canty? He could at least play acoustic like his early 90s pre-Sugar shows.
Bob tours both as a solo act and with a band. There's talk of the full band (w/Canty) hitting the road early next year. He played this show almost entirely on his acoustic and then pulled out the electric at the end.
But if you're curious about what he's doing now you could probably check his website. Just sayin....
To tell you the truth, as much as I idolize Bob Mould, I kind of lost interest in his newer output when he started doing house music as LoudBomb, and didn't really start paying attention again until the Bob Mould Band since I'm also a huge fan of Fugazi. I'll buy his new solo record, though.
Not so much anymore. I think Bob is finally recognized and given his due for the tremendous influence he had on everything that would eventually be called "indie" or "alternative". True, that alone may not pay his rent, but it's something.
Awesome. Thanks so much for uploading this. Its great to see Bob live. I saw him twice when he came to Scotland last year. Great performer, writer & musician.. love it!
You've been misinformed by someone. Bob's been playing Husker Du songs ever since the demise of the band in 1988. Check my profile for an example from 1991 ("Chartered Trips").
Chartered Trips is a juggernaut, man. What a shard of fuckin' noise that takes me back to eating hoagies on Lindale and Lake, skinny dipping in Cedar Lake until the cops showed up. Thanks, Bob.
a great talent, very underated and underappreciated

I heard that he never played Husker Du songs anymore...and actually was pretty bitter about people asking him to do them. Hm...
