  • solar panels are a little bit pricey, but thinking about long term effects it is economical...let us promote green architecture.

  • I love the photovoltaics concept.. wish the price would come down.

  • did i hear that right? that it is made up of silicon -one of the common elements on earth then why the heck it is so expensive? anyone knows why?

  • The Solar Panels Manufacturers are keeping the prices very high and slowly lowering it down…

keeping demand and supply with high profits.

Your Only Option is to Build You own Solar Panels

There is an Engineer from Chicago that explains it All

You can find his web site by Searching Google for...

    "Top DIY Solar Panels"

  • just to get it right for those who want to know! the positiv side of an element is the bottom side and the negitiv the top!!! dont know why they got it wrong here

  • "no matter how large or small", that's a load of BS. I also hate it when people say stupid things to try and impress you, like the suns energy over a minute can power the world for a year. How about just say something realistic with the same implications, like 1 square foot of solar panels can produce xx amount of energy per minute. If I wanted to find out the square footage of the earth and the worlds annual electricity consumption then I could do that on my own.

  • Perfect introductory explanation of how solar works. Some people just jump right into solar because they hear it's the next big thing and have no idea what it actually means. This is a good start for many.

  • Great and easy to understand demonstration on how solar energy works. Really clear.

  • i have one question. does it need to clean?

  • So, the pros: obviously free energy, no pollution...

    cons: expensive, weather dependent...

Am I wrong? What'd I leave out because I'm starting to get interested

  • @onegaisti actually, photovoltaic panels are dependent on ambient light. so even if its raining, it can still collect electricity, as long as there's light

  • perfectt explanation, you helped a lot !

  • Purchase your own wind turbine kit or parts for your Sovereign independence. Don't be a slave to the electric companies. 1500 Watt all inclusive turbine kit for about $1,500. Go Soveriegn! We have everything from charge controllers to Inverters. visit Sovereign's Depot @ sovdepot.com

  • and thers a wavelength and sadly all artificial light has miniscule amount of BLUE compared to the SUN, one hours worth is what we consume in one whole year. the big BLUE

  • Does the silicons ever run out of electrons?

  • What replaces the released electrons?

  • "Every minute, enough of this energy reaches the Earth to meet the world's energy demand for a whole year."

...So why aren't we using this all over the place?!

  • @eminentjonfrost Because we haven't found a way to harness and store that energy?

  • @eminentjonfrost because the energy of the sun is of such abundance that it wouldn't be profitable, therefore we are not using it. That is also the reason why there is suffering and poverty in the world; it's just not profitable to help people and make sure everyone has free, clean air and drinking water. Anything else you were wondering?

  • if you really want to make something work here it is take a parabolic solar concentrator and send light into a mirrored cone shape focal point then send that light into mirrored glass tubing which will send the light into a mirrored box with solar panels in it the solar panels must be cooled by spinning or cooling system.now get to work

  • Thanks for posting this info on solar power. I'm committed to a solar powered future for our society. Please check out my new song, Sun Power Me by Ben Sage. Cheers!

  • how does the electron get energy? What i understand is that the photons release the electrons but you didn't say where the electrons get there energy!!!

  • like this video. See my home energy stuff using Rooftop Wind Turbines and solar panels on my roof. I won a Green Design Contest with my product on EarthDay

    PEACE

  • I spent hours trying to understand how this works. Then i found your video, and now i understand! Thanks alot!

  • Good intro to Solar Panels. I've been doing some research into Solar Panels in the UK, if anyone's interested it's worth looking into Feed In Tariffs, which is a government scheme so you earn money for the electricity your Solar Panels generate. There's a company called Solar Loft Conversions Limited who fit solar panels on your roof for you at cost price if you get a loft conversion from them at the same time - which means you'll make your money back on them in half the time.

  • how do the positive and negative layers stay charged?

  • good job

  • Where can I buy solar panels or how long do I have to wait until solar panels come out in stores.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this video. It was quite informative!

  • some nice solar models on my channel for sale. check em out!

  • This made a really interesting watch.

  • its raining photons

  • I don't understand! Why is there piss raining from the sky? How does piss make electricity? This guy is so confusing!

  • try to imagine, if we can cover 1/3 of our sea with solar panel, we can prevent or reduce f3 tornado, big storm and global warming. and i believe we don't need fosil fuel anymore, I just waited who will going to start it.

  • @chateytung where would the sea creatures get their sunlight energy, better yet we should place these in deserts and gradually urbanize the desert reducing desertification

  • @dzgfdg Can't you see our sea is over heating? Sea coral is dying, because of sea water is over heat. that cause tornado, storm and flood, and also it cause Antarctica ice is melting.

  • @chateytung can't u see that the sea is warming because there is increased sun activity, not global warming. and most of all won't the solar panels heat up he water just as much, they are dark colored like the water

  • i love the fact that solar panels use silicon and dont cost too much their only problem is that they need huge feilds to power an entire country

  • why you guys cant invent cheap alternative for this

  • All our systems have wind and solar as a hybrid energy kit. Solar never charges at night or on cloudy days. Wind power kits are a great way to reduce or eliminate your home energy bill. Most people are going grid-tied and making the utility buy back the unused energy made from their windmills. Home wind power kits can be installed on a roof or in the yard of your home very easily.

  • This is a great example of how its done. Check us out if you'd like it to help eliminate your electric bill!

  • Very nice movie !! make it easy to understand the solar energy proccess !!!

  • I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas...

  • @MrEnergyCzar question...I just bought a solar flood light..50 LED...is this very bright? I put it outside in the sunlight to charge it for 3 days like the direction says..I have tried it and the lights are very dim to be a 50 LED..am I doing something wrong? thanks...it's by Adventive Ideas in New Jersey....this solar light I purchased from Improvements Catalog for my father..thanks..

  • @JAdoreSephora you may have a bum unit...the batteries might be bad...50 led's should be pretty bright....

  • @MrEnergyCzar that's what someone else said..I bought this at christmas time and just pulled it out of the box to see how it works..this is brand spanking new product..I took it to work for someone to help me and looked at the directions and it read on there not to have the knob turned all the way towards the 'moon part pic'. So i turned it halfway. I will give this another try. Right now it's cloudy again and no sun.thanks..I will def be keeping in touch with you on this matter..thanks again

  • The energy output of a 1 KW solar energy unit is roughly equivalent to the burning of 170 pounds of coal and 300 pounds of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. It is for this reason that industrially developed countries are taking serious steps to enable renewable energy sources like solar energy to replace our current dependence on fossil fuels. Pacific Crest Transformers has articles on the renewable energy industry on their website.

  • great my never year project is to make a solar item to work with and you helped me some of it thx

  • given the low voltage and daytime limits of solar panel energy, wouldnt a better use of solar power be in recharging batteries?

  • does the amount of energy created depend on the brightness of the light source?

  • Great video...I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas...I made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil"....

  • if anyone wants solar energy for their home in AZ message me

  • nice introduction you helped me alot with my research project and im 9 yrs old thanks alot :D

  • learnt a thing or two, Just google Heavy Dollars - ideal for a newcomer,, the online store is fantastic and practically runs itself

  • Is there anyone who thought about making electricity from gravity based on kinetic energy?

solar and wind energy works differently but they have something common, why we cant use gravity?

  • @bboysektor you mean lift something, drop it and then somehow turn its kinetic energy into the energy we use in the end? the problem is that lifting an object takes at LEAST as much energy as you'll get in the end, thats the simple point

  • How do you think hydro electric dams work?

  • why did we need gas again?

  • this was very informing. thank you

  • this is a cool and informative video. very easy to understand. thank you soo much

  • I think most sources state that each HOUR enough energy from the sun reaches Earth to power the globe's energy needs for a year...

  • tyvm for telling "us" about "how solar energy panels work"

  • A good introduction to how solar cells work. Easy an simplified way to explain complicated subject as solar energy theory. I like it...

  • wait

  • I built my own Solar Panels for under $100 which are currently powering my 1700 Square Foot home using the plans at:

    ambigrid-review.blogspot(DOT)com

  • when the electrons flow to the bottom does it occur in the semiconductur like silicon?

  • Be smart - don't pay any more electricity bills. more info: solar.xfollow.me (Copy to your browser's address bar)

  • nice and easy

  • why dont we stop using coal, adn just stick hundred of solar panels on our houses and make huge fiends big solar plants?

    stupid lazy ass planet

  • thats easy to much money. and what are we going to do with the jobs of the people working at the coal factories. its easier said than done also there are good people and bad people just so happens that most of the world is made up of bad people

  • thank you so much 4 this video!

  • actually most of the suns power get's put off as heat there are different waves i think it's something like colors are put off as heat so we only get like 15%.... nasa is working on beter solar panel tech. so don't wory lol

  • 30%

  • i wrote that like 6 months ago lol that's funny hey did you hear about that guy in florida a few yres back that built his own solar pannels and he was able to power his house and like his hole block and then the government came in and took it away and fined the shit out of him fuck the government they have to get money from everything that anyone does it's bullshit i'm glad that we can legally have solar now

    :)

  • this is awesome! thx dude

  • Great explanation of how solar panels work. Easy and simple to understand.
