Me and my friends used to do this as a joke. We would catch a deer and then we would get in the back of a pickup going down the road and throw it out at cars. road signs. or whatever until it was dead. Lots of fun, back when I lived in minnesota.

LOL...deer ran into a sign. Deer can spot a wire fence at night while running and jump over it. Deer can run full speed through the thickest of brush and not hit anything...I think it's extremely unlikely it just ran into the sign. 845MX5 is right, this has to be a deer-car collision.

No way imo that the deer ran into the sign, killing itself, and causing that much damage, to the sign, unless the post was rotten. I think its far more likely that the deer was struck by a passing vehicle, and slung into the sign via the impact. A deer struck by a vehicle does not always show lots of external damage to the deer, believe it or not.
